i see. cool.

one thing i like about this simple solution is that, since the source is from iphone, the sound quality is actually good.
*
Is it more simpler that using the AUX connector with a short headphone cable. Sound is also pretty decent from the AUX.

Where will you place the bluetooth box ? My car HU too dont have bluetooth connection but i am contemplating the box could also be a hassle within the limited space inside a car front cabin.

Is this a nice add-up or just a temporary plaything.hehe

i am using this beats audio cable to connect from my iphone and ipad to the aux port of my car audio system. the sound quality is excellent, it is even better than the sound from car audio player itself. so the source as iphone or ipad, the sound quality is really nice.

previously:

iphone/ipad ------audio cable----------> aux port (car)

i like the cable becos it is angled 90 degree for one side, suitable to use it in car.

https://www.apple.com/my/shop/product/MHE12...ats-audio-cable

now:

iphone/ipad ------bluetooth----> bluetooth receiver------->aux port (car)

i just place the bluetooth receiver at the holder near the gear below the audio system. so the audio cable is considered a bit too long, but i just tie it up to make it neater. it does not have built-in battery so i just connect a usb-A to micro-usb cable all the time.

this is an permanent add-up to my old car that does not have the latest tech. haha. but this cheap solution really works very well than changing a bluetooth capable of car audio system.

never feel that listening audio from my iphone/ipad in my old car can be so convenient. haha.

can. call apple support first.

Chat with Apple support and they ask to send in to authorised service center in Malaysia for them to send to Apple Singapore for evaluation.

After that, test water at Mac City 1 Utama and ask one of their arrogant English speaking staff and he said “cosmetic defect = no warranty”, inform him this is not cosmetic defect, it’s manufacturing defect. And he repeat again the sentence what he said before. Of course I never show him my chat with Apple support above since he talk arrogantly and not interested to help.

I think Mac City staff just interested in their commision.
I will never go to Mac city again.

Next I went to Machines at the curve, at least the service staff ask me to call Apple and ask Apple, then I show him my chat with Apple support which ask me to submit to Apple authorised service center to be send to Apple singapore for evaluation.
Then he issued a service report and reset the phone.

Finger crossed and hope they will replace to a new unit.

I always have been Machines supporter and bought most of stuff there.

Mac City sucks......

U are absolutely right about authorised dealers. FYI, in lion city, all the major authorised Apple dealers have been closed down. Now left one or two players only.

Give that there are two Apple stores in lion city, and there is one more coming up soon, no one will be buying from authorised dealers anymore. the only perks for buying from Apple authorised dealers there now is that some of them may give extra free gifts (sometimes useless or not good brand one). Other than that, there is totally no incentive to buy from them than Apple directly.

If you buy from Apple directly, can easily exchange or even refund in full if there is anything wrong with the product. If you buy from authorised dealers, no such thing and they will just ask you to send to apple for repairs.

One thing also people nowadays will just send their Apple devices to Apple for repair directly instead of going thru their authorised dealer service centre becos it is more efficient and more reliable.

Actually you can directly send to Apple authorised repair centres here and they'll do the needful to get the device checked and sent to Singapore for further checking and 121 replacement.

dont dude...
those guys sometime try to be heros..
screw the phone
and then say cannot etc

always call apple support first especially in cases where they can send direct to singapore
then only to those shops..
and show them the conversation.

This is more or less my setup if i want to use my wireless earbuds when flying..

Headset seat female slot--->double pin connector (IINM bought around RM20)--->bluetooth receiver/transmitter(mine is old Anker)--->wireless earbud

So you can straight away enjoy the sounds even before the standard headset is distributed(if it hasn't).. The most important thing is, wireless.. Can still hear the sound if the WC is nearby ... kekeke..

Just make sure that the bluetooth gadget is fully charge before you board your plane... cuz like me, i rarely fly... so maybe the batt already drain out few months back...

Seriously, I dun get it why one needs to buy from other sources than Apple online store. Bolehland does not have physical Apple store, however, there is online Apple store one can just buy from there.

It is obviously the most reliable source one can buy any apple products. Anything wrong you can deal with Apple support to resolve it easily.

Dun tell me it is becos of cost? How cheaper can it be? Even it is, remember the fact that “buy cheap and pay twice”.

How reliable is the delivery if buy from Apple online store?

Of course I understand there is risk for delivery - package lost/stolen etc.

I think there are people who prefer to see physical goods when purchasing.
