QUOTE(cstkl1 @ Nov 16 2019, 09:31 PM) Chat with Apple support and they ask to send in to authorised service center in Malaysia for them to send to Apple Singapore for evaluation. After that, test water at Mac City 1 Utama and ask one of their arrogant English speaking staff and he said “cosmetic defect = no warranty”, inform him this is not cosmetic defect, it’s manufacturing defect. And he repeat again the sentence what he said before. Of course I never show him my chat with Apple support above since he talk arrogantly and not interested to help. I think Mac City staff just interested in their commision. I will never go to Mac city again. Next I went to Machines at the curve, at least the service staff ask me to call Apple and ask Apple, then I show him my chat with Apple support which ask me to submit to Apple authorised service center to be send to Apple singapore for evaluation. Then he issued a service report and reset the phone. Finger crossed and hope they will replace to a new unit. I always have been Machines supporter and bought most of stuff there. Mac City sucks...... This post has been edited by micwin1437: Nov 17 2019, 10:35 AM |

QUOTE(westlife @ Nov 17 2019, 10:47 AM) U are absolutely right about authorised dealers. FYI, in lion city, all the major authorised Apple dealers have been closed down. Now left one or two players only. Machines is ok compare to Others.Give that there are two Apple stores in lion city, and there is one more coming up soon, no one will be buying from authorised dealers anymore. the only perks for buying from Apple authorised dealers there now is that some of them may give extra free gifts (sometimes useless or not good brand one). Other than that, there is totally no incentive to buy from them than Apple directly. If you buy from Apple directly, can easily exchange or even refund in full if there is anything wrong with the product. If you buy from authorised dealers, no such thing and they will just ask you to send to apple for repairs. One thing also people nowadays will just send their Apple devices to Apple for repair directly instead of going thru their authorised dealer service centre becos it is more efficient and more reliable. QUOTE(sramesh @ Nov 17 2019, 08:09 PM) Actually you can directly send to Apple authorised repair centres here and they'll do the needful to get the device checked and sent to Singapore for further checking and 121 replacement. Yup, I submit to Machines by showing them my online chat with Apple online support. Unfortunately there is no Apple Center here in Malaysia. QUOTE(ahlin @ Nov 18 2019, 11:52 AM) 1U Mac City yet again, same thing happened to my friend, the apple logo has cracked once the phone out of box, no exchange is allowed, face some bossy attitude staff also, and now my friend has bring the case to tribunal court. Should be the same idiot. |

QUOTE(soitsuagain @ Nov 20 2019, 04:45 PM) Good to know you have a brand new unit. I did my homework, online support chat with Apple first, Apple ask to send to the nearest authorised reseller to send in to Apple store for evaluation. You don't have to mock him. They are really powerless. However, they will do everything for you if it came as a directive from Apple support. When I walk in to Mac City and show the guy the manufacturing defect and he claim it’s cosmetic defect, he immediately shut me down saying cannot claim, 100% confirmed cannot claim for cosmetic issue/ defect confidently speaking English with US accent (so action and proud) So I must walk in find the manager and mock his staff which he employed from US for incompetence and ignorance. I standby the receipt from machines (warranty claim) and Apple (change of serial number) just in case the manager is also an arrogant and ignorant person. QUOTE(fremont88 @ Nov 20 2019, 04:48 PM) Actually it’s the same colour, it’s the bright lighting at machines counter.QUOTE(icemessenger @ Nov 20 2019, 05:24 PM) 👍😅😂QUOTE(ahlin @ Nov 20 2019, 05:28 PM) Bought at Maxis. This post has been edited by micwin1437: Nov 20 2019, 08:37 PM |

QUOTE(soitsuagain @ Nov 20 2019, 09:33 PM) Haha loves the accent part and the way you retort back to their manager... Under this scenario I simply cannot wait to go back to that shop and show him the brand new replaced set 😂 👍QUOTE(andrewtho @ Nov 21 2019, 10:33 AM) Do it, do record it as well Must record this time, I scare they will bully me.I really dislike arrogant front liners, irregardless if you are a manager or sales staff - straight down rejecting is just pure laziness and ignorant. Also do file a complain to Mac City as well. No customers should be treated like that, never. Should have recorded during the time he say cannot claim. QUOTE(Infinity88 @ Nov 21 2019, 04:43 PM) 👍👍 |

QUOTE(naughtyz @ Feb 22 2020, 01:38 AM) hello, i want to share something regarding claim issue, the iphone is telling in website than it has IP68, can enter water depth 4 meter for 30 minute, and splash resistant, dont believe this shit, kena sikit water at charger part, start face id cannot use, send for warranty, technician show one of the skrew inside karat, liquid damage is not cover they say. It’s true you can’t claim for water damage related issue even though the phone is IP68, same applies to all brand. This post has been edited by micwin1437: Feb 23 2020, 09:37 AM |

QUOTE(TomYummy @ Aug 9 2020, 12:15 PM) So my IP 11 Pro from one moment to another decided to commit suicide. I was reading whatsapp when i saw a little glitch on the screen and dang phone shutdown and dead. 7 months old, pharmacy quality clean, never dropped, never put in water. Brought it back to machines in midvalley, i purchased there, they are dodging the problem "can't do anything la". I was redirected to call apple care singapore, they told me to book an appointment with itworld. After 2 painful weeks they identified "unrepairable damage to logic board and cpu" and want to give me a refurbished phone. So i was like, now the serial number on the original box and the phone won't match, no extended warranty, how can you ensure the same sh*t will not happen again? The guy was clueless and shaking "sir we dont have an answer". I said i want a refund, they are dodging the problem, no one wants to be responsible. He told me to call another number and "we cant do anything sir". Is this a joke? I got a perfect apple refurbished phone. 101% looks brand new. To ask for a refund is absurd. Even Volkswagen Passat 1.4 turbo with failure of their mechatronic gearbox sensor does not get a new car replacement or refund. I do not think any phone manufacturer does a refund when their product fail other than when note 7 exploding issue. QUOTE(TomYummy @ Aug 10 2020, 12:58 AM) I am sorry but what are you talking about? Comparing a <6k iPhone with a VW Passat? You can try to go to consumer court to try claim for a refund.Let's recap this, - phone is dead out of nowhere within 7 months - machines chase me away "i dont know you, not my problem" - that apple carline accuse me for damaging the phone - the repair center telling me "its like this" - getting a refurbished phone with 3 months warranty wrapped in white paper, like i am buying it from night market or gray market - the repair center "classifies" the root cause of the problem and doesn't even let me know - i will have trouble selling it off if i want to upgrade, because the serial number wont match the one on the box, so advertise it as full set and explain to you people why there's difference? I am from Europe, i am not used to this. For future new phone purchase, I would advise you to purchase all risk insurance for your new phone, if it is available. |

iPhone Model Number
If the model number of the iPhone starts with the letter ‘M,’ then it is a NEW iPhone. If on the other hand, the model number starts with letter ‘F,’ it’s a carrier-refurbished model and when it starts with the letter ‘N,’ it indicates that it is an Apple Replacement device. |
