Comp Sci and you are applying for a diploma position? And asking for 2.8k when others will happily accept less cos this is an entry level position?

Dude, apply for more skilled jobs or ask for less.

I am a fresh graduate computer science student who recently has just completed my studies during august. I have applied almost 30 companies on websites such as linkedin, glassdoor and jobstreet.
But so far almost more than 1 month only two of the companies did call me up for an interview but still got rejected in the end. The job i have applied are more towards IT support and administration
such as linux and windows as I have some knowledge towards it.

Company 1:
I did manage to answer most of the technical questions given by them during the interview and told me that will arrange for 2nd interview with the executive director.
After two weeks up to now still no news.

Company 2:
Call me up for phone interview yesterday, ask me some technical questions also told me will arrange for an interview today but suddenly got rejected this morning told me that there are a
change of job requirements and they are not hiring anymore.

Is it really normal for a fresh graduate to find it hard in securing for a job these days? As my expected starting salary is only RM2800 and its not even considered very high lol

Actually, look for jobs which fit your skillsets and your qualifications.

A lot of fresh grads just go into job-hunting without thinking off what they can do and what they want, which is literally one of the major reasons they fail the interview and couldn't impress the potential-employers.

I also found it rather futile to apply for overqualified posts because they pay lower than your expectations for sure and Malaysian employers always lowball 24/7/365.
I find it useful to ask what amount or range the employer is willing to pay and see is it what you want.
Sometimes you can nego but that's not the case for low-skilled jobs.

Finally, try harder unless you are only aiming for Big 4 or major huge firms and your grads and unis are top-tier. Send more applications and don't be afraid to go to the same company again.
And polish your resume, compare to the standard templates online and make sure yours are at least as good.

IT-related posts are in abundance in Malaysia so just don't give up.

RM 2.8k? Is that the norm now? Crazy.. expected salary like that also cannot find job ..RM 2.8k was my first salary in 2003.

Maybe can try jump to singkapork

rm2.8k is considered high
normally fresh grad salary for degree holder got offered way lower than that such as rm2k or even lower due to the job vacancy and job demand.

dont trust all these websites. suggest you see the job opening on jobstreet and you apply through their company website directly.
