i got this big huge kerengga which i manage to track to 1 of my neighbour's tree. but the tree is high up. i suspect they make nest can see some clumps of leave clump together but too high up. i tried destroying their path, kasi siram clorox, kasi semut powder , kasi ant glue. none works. they breed damn fast. how to get rid of them ?

i sked if burn their house beat their mother than they migrate somewhere else and again will come . if cannot find the house lagi teruk.

any ideas ?


i dun think is called semut api so i juz refer to these buggers as kerengga. english dunno call what but i suspek is just big huge mafacker red ants.

Kerengga is kerengga, semut api is semut api. 2 different kind

kerengga nampak saja besar, but no power one. gigit macam mana pun tak sakit langsung

semut api on the other hand smaller than kerengga less than half but when kena bite, fuh damn gatal weh....

i say leave the kerengga be, they are harmless and are a good bunch of cleaners just like any ants.

the first 2 kerengga that connect both sides are the bomb. imagine how they build this.

maybe slowly from the side and meet in the middle.
it might take them 3 to 4 kerengga on each side then the 2 in the middle connect both sides.

This fucker smelly as fuck. But that's it.. bite is just annoying.

use animal fat to lure those ants out of their nest. once they are out, dispose of the fats with the ants. burn it or whatever.

then cut off their nest and burn it too

use rotten meat in a sack as bait then let it infest it for a few days so you can nuke em in 1 go

I member long time ago got a lot of these at my parents home. When i smol2, i take scissors n cut their head off of them dat walkin on the gate. They look like they still alive, still standing but not walking anymo. Dem stupid kid

masa aku budak, depan belakang rumah ada pokok mangga, dah biasa main kerengga merah - squashed, cooked, boiled, lastik, rejam with needle etc done many things. their bite is seriously weak as fuark i think even fish bite is more painful than a kerengga bite. at most it felt like an itch, nothing more.

of course i have to specifically say kerengga MERAH. if it is black in colour that one you avoid just like semut api.

clump of leaves would mean weaver ants.

My house also got outside live on the trees and feed on trash. Doesn't come inside the house which is good. But quite annoying when you want to throw trash outside got so many kerengga invaded the thrash box.

If you park car outside make your car don't make direct contact with the tree branches or else they will come inside your car.

Don't attack their nest recklessly. They will give out panic pheromone then all colony become aggressive. That is when their bite hurt the most

I fucking hate kerengga. They are fucking aggressive. They don't have a dedicated soldier ant. Every ant is a soldier ant and they will attack you if you get too close to them

They clean what?

It worked for me for two times though; in my hostel room long ago, and my previous car. But I think for outdoor ants, you might need something like an "ant gel" or something.

just like any other ants, they eat your rubbishes, animal carcasses etc

i find it pretty inntriguing when we have /k complaint that kerengga merah bite is painful, which is very different from my own experience.

if kerengga merah bite is painful i think you might die from kerengga hitam and semut api bites.
