May I know do the phone run smooth? Planning to get 1 for my parents too.. would like to knw how the phone perform..

Smooth enough for my parent. No complaints. I tried a bit and find it perform adequately. Don't think most old people will notice the speed as long as apps can function well.

Not so sure I didn't check which wifi frequency I set up for them.

Doubt parents will notice the difference.

I am using Realme 5 Pro since last year. On GSMArena, it's listed that this phone can support LTE-A (Cat 4, 6 or what no idea la)
Specifications
There is however no mention of LTE-A on Realme Malaysia website.

Since 5 Pro uses SD712, its supposed to support up to LTE Cat15 leh
SD712 Connectivity

Am I supposed to get 4G+ with this phone? I never got it to work at all. I am using Maxis btw.

Also may I ask what telco you're using? Who knows Maxis 4G+ not supported, which is quite unlikely since my father's 4 year old Samsung A9 also got 4G+ leh.

Why not get the 6/6i instead of 5/5i?

Your parents won't know the CPU inside make any different unless you plan to flash customROM for your parents few years down the road when come to OS support.

Just bought realme 5i for my parent.. notice really no 5ghz wifi.. 2.4ghz wifi sometimes just lost connection and cannot find.. so my parent really notice the difference.. just wonder if there's any workaround besides restart router..

Best workaround is to place router near the spot where they always sit down.

Sorry haven't had the time to check on my parent phone wifi. I keep forgetting to do this when I was over at their place.

Sound like a router issue. Perhaps you can find ways to borrow another from someone else and test out the 2.4GHz connectivity?
