Better to have more buffer than less. For IBKR once you -ve ex liquidity they would just liquidate without asking u . U have to monitor your exliq constantly .

But still, i find it funny since for Selling Put, It shouldn't exceed the strike price. Maybe someone can share in what scenario it exceed the strike price. Some more mine is Secured Puts (Have enough to cash to buy) Maybe it just a warning in case i don't have enough $$ at Expiry.

Should I be worry about this? I'm only selling Secured Puts, and the Strike Price did not exceed my Total Cash. Even if got assigned i still have around 6% buffer

IBKR Liquidation Notices (Reddit)

Alright i got my question answered, it's basically a Alert message telling me that "IBKR gonna liquidate position if you have no money to pay for the fee"

Anyone using Webull? Latest promotion is deposit 2k sgd + 6 trades to get 1 Microsoft share.

0 fees for time being for US stocks due to promotion period.

The FAQ seems gooding also since they charge 0 for currency exchange. Cannot deposit using Wise though.. Must deposit via SG bank:

I've recently tried creating an IBKR account because I wanted to invest with the knowledge ITT. Unfortunately, I had to cancel my application as I tried to register for a higher income account and couldn't send them proofs.

The problem is I deposited funds into the account and they said they have sent the refund through bank transfer.

Now this was supposedly done on the 2nd August but I have not received anything in my bank account. IBKR have given me the MT900/MT910 code but Maybank says they can't see anything and are unable to check.

What options do I have? Should I check with BNM?

I would like to know what does it mean by "Higher Income Account" and what proof they need?

For the later part, you may give IBKR a call... it may not be a smooth journey as last i heard that it may take a long time for them to answer any calls since they always short staff.
And, I don't think you can call BNM for this since it's a transfer between you and a company that is not registered nor it is regulated in Malaysia.

Thanks for the replies.

I meant declaring my earnings as higher than it is for an individual account when I wrote "Higher income account". I read there are some limitations for accounts opened with lower income declared such as day trading limits, etc. That's my mistake for sure. I just wanted the extra options, most likely wasn't even going to use them.

I didn't think about the downgrade route at that time...

As of now I just want my money back so I don't mind the extra charges that come with a bank transfer. I've contacted BNM's ombudsman and they advised that a receiver can't request for details of a transfer, it's all on the sender. I've sent IBKR CS a request for that, lets see how it goes.

I hope everything sorted with 0 or minimal surcharge and also on timely manner. I don't recall what you've experience, i just blindly follow steps from Ziet Investing... it took me a month and a half to open IBKR account alongside with Wise and CIMB SG (This really gave me some headache). But so far it does not request me for anything, maybe they did check my Income Tax? and consider that as "declaring earning? But I do remember it's hard for them to approve my Option trading due to lack of experience + don't have that much assets. But in the end it still went through.

Please don't involve yourself in any quick money scheme, I thought I'm prepared for it, who knows 千算万算最后自己被算. Wasted 1 year and now back to square **minus** one with few more years of loan debt on top of existing debt.

Just sharing, unsure if anyone realize that your Mobile Internet will drop when you make or receive a cellular call. This happens to me few days ago when i called IBKR Support at Singapore to unlock my account (Malaysia don't have Support so bopien). I ended up need to put down the call and use another number to call back cause I did not receive any prompt from the IBKR apps. doh.gif
