what issue if transfer USD?

If I did not deposit any fund into the account, how they gonna charge the account maintenance fee?

Hi everyone. I transferred around SGD300 via InstaRem to IBKR and the status is "returned". Do you guys have any idea why this happen? Is it because the amount too small?

Being reading this thread from the beginning and thank you to all the information.

I know most are doing for investment purpose; that is to hold the share/etf for long periods. So basically divide into 2 groups :
Day Trader: Frequent buy and sell
Investor: Buy and hold for capital gain in long period.

However, I hv questions abt choosing btw pure IBKR and Whitelabel. Is it better to use pure IBKR if you do some day trading? The trading volume is enuf to cover the $10/month commission. But still not high volume for tier pricing la. For the day trader, is it worthwhile to stick to pure IBKR?

Oh ya ka? But this limit is for margin trading for options right?
How abt long and short shares/etf?

I don't know how you get USD0.35/transaction.
Frm IBKR webiste
USD 0.005 per share or USD1.00 min/ order.

I believe I'll hit the USD1/order just bcoz my volume is not big. That's abt 10 transactions.
Also, the commisision of USD10 will minus from the total commission per month. Lets say my total commission is USD6.50.
Then I pay USD10 - USD6.50 = USD3.50 ... which is OK.

PDT Rule does not apply to cash account.

May I ask do need to worry much about the margin requirements when buying stock? Reason being is the initial and maintenance margin seems like a load of information I have to absorb and learn..

Just got my account set up. Registered for margin and I think this is a bit different compared to the Malaysian margin accounts.

Will they only provide a limit once I make a deposit? Is there anyway to get some buying power while I try to get my funds deposited?
