How come so weird one? You transfer EUR correct? So I suppose IBKR UK rejected? Mine went through though. 2 Instarem transactions and 1 TransferWise.
Be aware that HolyAssassin's transaction was rejected earlier.
Email and phone is not important. Can put their email but your phone number.
*
Yup EUR to Citi Germany. Although this is my first deposit via Instarem and no prior transactions so maybe it's one of the cause? I did hurry them to complete the review not sure if that's the cause cry.gif

What did you put under the email address?
*
Contact number and email is your personal one. You only need to make sure the recipient name is correct (Interactive Brokers LLC), Swift Code and IBAN. Others put your own

Yea no worries, just wanna put a warning here that Instarem direct is not a guaranteed way to transfer as they officially don't support it. Try Transferwise or safest way via a Middleman bank to IBKR

That's what I did but they insisted for statements.
I then had to explain that I do not have one because Transferwise does not offer new borderless accounts to Malaysians anymore.
The compliance officer approved the deposit.

Now, I'm asking whether can send through this method or not in future.

Edit:

I asked:
Just wondering, I am allowed to send foreign currency to IBKR using Transferwise in future? Or the deposit must be from my name?

They replied:
You can send funds from a Transferwise account in your name or any other account that is in your name.

What a vague answer. So can or not?  laugh.gif

I just did 3 Transferwise transactions, finally approved compared to the Instarem nightmare I went thru. IBKR did ask for additional documents for compliance review. I sent them the receipt, latest bank statement for proof of name and the latest bank transactions to show the transfer I did to TW. Approved in 3 hours.

I think what IBKR wants is just proof to show that the flow of money originate from an account under your name

Anyone own a HSBC Multicurrent account and use it to send directly to IKBR?
*
I've got their Everyday Global Account, can send directly via Wire but the forex rate bloody expensive even with a Premier account. Not recommended use Transferwise instead

Transferwise has a max limit of 30k per transaction. Any sifus here know how to bypass the limit if it's possible?

can receive USD in HSBC or not?
Thinking of withdrawing USD to a local bank, and possibly transferring USD out of the bank to IBKR again.
*
Never tried receiving USD, but just double confirmed with them that they can receive USD without going thru conversion

I'd like to know what fees are involved if one transfers USD from their HSBC multi-currency account to IBKR ...

Please report back if anyone has tried it.
*
As IBKR is a Citibank account, I think traditional wire fees apply, page 31, along with intermediary bank charges if there's any. Only thing you're saving on is no forex spread. If to HSBC account its RM22 unless you're premier then it's waived

Yeah but I'm using example to explain marginal benefit so can illustrate better.

If I use 1.5% then,

IBKR0.09%+1.5%=1.59%
TSG1.59%+2.5%=4.09%

Your monthly statement will look somewhat like:

DetailIBKRTSG
Minimum commission$10$0
Finance cost$(4800 x 1.59% /12)=$6.36$(4800 x 4.09% / 12)=$16.36
Total cost$16.36$16.36

Therefore, the benefit of TSG = benefit of IBKR if you borrow $4800 (assume not other transactions).
If borrow >$4800 p.a (12 months like ASB loan), use IBKR.
If borrow <$4800 p.a., use TSG.
*
How much margin as a percentage of your ELV do you typically use? I stick around 30-35% but not sure if I should up it anot

Citibank NA is registered in Singapore. You are not transferring to an entity outside of Singapore, so why use global transfer?
*
Additional info for the Citibank users here. Don't use the Citibank Global Transfer to send funds to IBKR, they don't accept that method and will return it.

hi guys, wanna clarify something..
friend of mine who use ibkr directly he subscribe live data 10usd per month, so he no need pay any monthly fees as the monthly fees will get charges if he trade commission is lower than 10usd. is kinda good bypass as well rite? haha
*
wait so you're saying that live data fees can use to offset monthly charge? I thought it's the other way round

recently got into IBKR, but seriously the platform is complicated as hell! Can anyone teach me how to see price queue? And, do I really have to pay USD125 for real-time market data?

Any way to skip that to access real-time data ?
*
Market depth requires Level II data, a subscription. Level I data is also a subscription, but not USD125 unless you're a pro. No way to skip it besides paying

Prices quoted for non-pro:
NASDAQ (Network C/UTP) = 1.5 USD/month, NYSE (Network A/CTA) = 1.5 USD/month, NYSE American, BATS, ARCA, IEX, and Regional Exchanges (Network B) = 1.50 USD/month, OPRA (US Options Exchanges) = 1.50 USD/month.
Total: 6 USD/month.
Level II data, ISE Options = 10.00 USD/month, NYSE AMEX Options = 11.50 USD/month, NYSE Arca Options = 11.50 USD/month, NYSE ArcaBook = 11.00 USD/month, NYSE OpenBook = 25.00 USD/month, NASDAQ TotalView-OpenView = 15.00 USD/month, NASDAQ Options Market = 11.50 USD/month
Total: 95.50 USD/month

got data packages... don't need to add one by one
*
Calculated before, if no commision waiver level I data alacarte is cheaper than the package. There are also alot of data that you may not need in the package, alacarte can be cheaper if you know what you need.
Level II isn't included in the package either need to alacarte IIRC
