Hi all,

I would want to setup a foreign trading account preferably to trade in the US stock market. I have been quite a profitable trader for years and overall in Bursa Malaysia. I believe it's time for me to venture out. I'm talking about physical shares and not other financial instruments such as CFD's etc.

Hence I would love some suggestions about which broker should I choose based on the following criteria:
1) Low brokerage fee
2) Easy to setup and convenient for settlement
3) Withdrawals and deposits are easy and the profits could be easily remitted back and convertible instantly to cash (liquid)
4) Trading platform is user friendly.

Are there any local brokers from those who are very experienced in trading in the US stock market that it would be a good one?

only deposit via maybank with charges?

Hi, i'm newbie to this. Based on info I read from the thread, it is recommended to go with CIMB SG than Maybank SG. Appreciate if you can share what charges/fee Maybank has that CIMB don't. I currently do not have a CIMB MY account, so need to open one 1st before applying for CIMB SG account rite?
I am considering Maybank coz i called RM and he said just fill up form and some documentation will do, so its more convinient.

Just want to let newbies like me know seems like don't need to fund the account for it to be approved. I've seen some people say need funding but maybe IB changed the rules.

My process:
1) Apply to create account on Sunday, I use IC for identification and drivers license for proof of address, both also uploaded using their mobile scanner.
2) Tuesday approved, 0$ funding so obviously can't trade

Now I want to fund the account but can't find the convert currency option, only have in mobile app. Don't want to download their software cause mafan and using Mac lol 
I read all the post and also saw someone ask where is the currency conversion but not sure which page is the post already, any sifu here know if their web portal have currency convert option? (ps: I know can use mobile but just asking)

So much hassle in opening an account and transfer fund for IBKR, why not just use eToro? Not endorsing eToro here, but as noob, can someone let me know what are the pros in IBKR over eToro? Better security? Guarantee funds?

Exactly, Alot of people tempted to go with etoro due to the ease of deposit via credit card IINM

Hey there! I just opened an IBKR account and I'm really excited to start investing. I plan to fund my whitelabel IBKR using my US account. Has anyone tried sending money from malaysian bank account to us account using instaRem? Will i run into any roadblocks or interrogations of why im sending money abroad? Is instaRem a secure to send money?

hi, i have recently started to withdraw money on monthly basis from interactive brokers to maybank.
everytime, i do the transfer, the bank will call me to ask about the source of the fund because the amount is >10kMYR

1. is there a workaround for this? is foreign bank (HSBC or CItibank) better in this regards?
2. THe withdrawal from IB to Maybank cost me about USD25. this is a bit too much in my perspective, anyone has experience with other banks?

I just got my IB acc approval, and came across TSG + IB can avoid monthly fees.
May i ask if after i registered with TSG + IB using my existing IB acc.... Which platforms should i do my funding? Both acc also can use? Our money still under IB and safe?

A few days after I sent an inquiry via message inbox in IBKR login website, I received the following reply from IBKR:
Sigh, it seems that being a customer of Whitelabels such as TradeStation Global will deny us the customer support from IBKR.

I would prefer getting clarification from IBKR, rather than TSG, because the reply from IBKR should be more accurate.

The difference in levels here. Bearing with TSG meanwhile I have to bear with Etoro/T212 haha

Last time when you sent inquires to IBKR, IBKR did reply directly to you, via the message inbox, right?

Is ibkr good for day trader? Cause usd10 actually quite easily hit, just buy and sell 10 times only.
