DDR4 not performs as good as we may expected. a lot of experienced user still prefer DDR3 which give better value for performance to price ratio... nod.gif

Wheeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee. rclxm9.gif rclxm9.gif rclxm9.gif rclxm9.gif rclxm9.gif Bought my latest toys today. New Striker Extreme mobo, Q6600 G0 stepping quad core CPU, 8400GS n 8500GT DDR3 OC. Now I can use SLI with my 2x8800GTX on the 30" monitor while the smaller gfx card will be 3rd card in the 3rd gfx slot to power my 20" monitor. Haven't decided whether to use 8500GT or 8400GS as the 3rd card.

Ya lor watodo? Bioshock made me decide to upgrade coz finally my X2 CPU reached it's limits. While playing BIoshock at 2560x1600 reso, full gfx options on, both the cores running at maximum 100% n still lag. I had to turn off all background apps then oni can run the game smoothly. I lazy to turn all those things on n off everytime I wanna play games. Besides, Crysis, Hellgate, Unreal 3 n all the big games using multi cores coming b4 xmas so I might as well go Quad core 1 shot lor.

physic card just an optional only. its not compulsori to run the games smoothly. just added some effect, if don't have physic card, it's ok la..
maybe limited also by RAM??coz last time uncle using toledo, DDR400....anyway, uncle running his games at really high resolution, no wonder la need a monster also to match up with his monstor lcd... nod.gif

anyway, why cannot use nvidia card for 3rd gc??driver conflict??
off topic, wanna ask something here, may i use my 7300gt to power up 1 crt + 1lcd??need other hardware or just plug in to the 2nd connector??

3rd card cant use nvidia coz the driver will oni allow me to use 6 monitors n cannot SLI. laugh.gif What I wanna do is set up the SLI then use the ATI by itself to power the 2nd monitor.

It is not about RAM only anyway. The slowest thing for PC nowadays is HDD. try to get SCSI Card if you afford to or try to Raptor. It will definitely boost performance rather than using normal Sata 2 HDD.
