I think it will get harder to sideload gms as Huawei (probably more from google) updates its firmware. Like p40 series you need to downgrade firmware with Hisuite first before able to sideload  Unlike last year you probably can one click install GMS

You can try using without GMS. But make sure you dont update to the latest firmware. But I have seen constant updates to GMS installation methods to make sure it works. So it doesn't really matter if you'd ask me.

too good bargain sad for owners wan sell off as second hand units tho

to be honest i doubt so.
doing this at 2k also kills their midrange line up .
probably want to finish off their inventory.
their business in smartphone side is getting bleak.
even having problems with displays now.
their competitor note10+ is still staying strong near 3k range.

2k is abit too much to be honest.
not even 1 midrange phone can compete with this phone at 2k.

TBH good camera, battery life and great processor.

What is the latest build version for M30Pro?? Mine is 10.0.0.204, security patch still in March. Is there any newer version? Impossible that my Mate 9 security is newer than m30Pro which is May already.

Saw few post in here about Mate 30 received EMUI 10.1 update, so I worried why my unit still in March security patch. Just wanna confirm is Huawei slow update or is my unit problem.

Oh another downside of china phone. Security patches Abit weak.
