Normally it start to slow down at 95 to 100%

Its called trickle charging. Trickle charging starts once charging reaches 80% battery charge.

My first impression? This phone is seriously heavy!

The XS Max is really hefty already. If you say the XI Pro Max has s heavier, then it's really, really heavy. sweat.gif

Ya, was holding it on one hand vs my wife’s XS Max on the other. I can really feel the difference! But my wife said it’s not too noticeable for her. Maybe she’s hinting already, hahaha...

The battery life on the Pro Max is just superb. Though by looking at the Battery app doesnt give me a detailed benchmark because its based on 24 hours rather than last plugged off from full charge - on a daily use, I can really feel the difference.

Yesterday plugged from charger at 8am, by 11pm I still have 65% of battery left. On normal work day, I still have 30% juice remaining at the end of the day, thats inclusive of 1 hour Netflix streaming, constant calls to vendors and colleagues, and always-on Whatsapp Web.

Such a beast of a phone.

Nice try bro... thanks but no thanks. laugh.gif

Yup, rolled back the clock to 2008 and now on 3G, hahaha...

And to think some people don't want to buy any phone this year coz they are waiting for 5G phones... Oh well...
*
Haha... Great that the Iphone XI Pro Max could support 3G. sweat.gif

Yup... a source inside Maxis did tell me we are going to have 5G by next year latest. So I'm waiting for the 2020 iphone. tongue.gif

Anyway, I got a brand new Iphone 6S for the kid from Machines. Still a great phone till today. Still smooth like butter even for an older model of Iphone. nod.gif

But but but... that what they all said when 4G rolled out. Don't worry, next year I will join you in switching over to the new 2020 Iphone. Can justify changing phones then because got extra network band. laugh.gif

Yes, the 6S is still smooth as butter but I’d be wary about buying a brand new one now, considering it will most likely not support the next iOS version bro. But if you got a good deal on it then it’s fine. Still a good phone!
*
It's Rm1149. sweat.gif But no choice because this is the cheapest brand new Iphone. Wont want to risk buying a used set and having to replace the battery and having the probability of the need to send it in for repairs. And they provide 1 year warranty for peace of mind.

I wouldn't worry, personally. If the 5s (released 2012) can get updated all the way to 12.4.2 in 2019, then the 6s/SE (released 2016) will probably end up on iOS 16 in 2022 before it's considered EOL.
*
Nice... Hopefully it IOS 13 wont be the last update for the 6S. Surprisingly the phone still looks good, even after being launched so many years back. I forgot how a non Plus or Max Iphone looks like. biggrin.gif

laugh.gif Iphone 11 pro max plus .... yeah i know stupid name  tongue.gif
Cant blame you for not liking the case abit.... each case have it own owner preference,
For this, i like the case for the bland back (I never like clear back due to OCD of dust), ultra thin feel and sand paper grip plus it is possible for one hand used.... i have been through many case that i brought recently from ringke fusion X to spigen liquid air and even UAG but i feel it makes my phone alot bigger and slightly heavy then it already have... one had used is totally impossible for this case i have....
*
That would be pushing it..... laugh.gif

Hi guys,
I am traveling to US next week  and planning to get the iphone 11 pro there.
Any concern other than the warranty issue?
should i be worried with the malaysia cellular band not suitable with iphone US set?
Please advice, Thank you
*
Getting the Iphone from the US is much cheaper compared to getting it elsewhere around the world. One thing that you must take into consideration is you must buy unlocked sets, if you get a Telco locked set (which are usually much cheaper) you wont be able to use it with other telcos here.

Hmmm. Not really, you have not take sale tax into consideration. Japan will likely end up cheaper with tax exemption.
*
I know Japan is cheaper by a few hundred ringgit, but would it be cheaper than US set? hmm.gif Latest IPhones could sell at about $500-$600 Usd when there are sales over in the US.

I assume we have lots of authorise dealer with service centre in Malaysia. Eg switch, machine. If let's say switch rejected warranty claim for US set, we can stil try our luck with machine or other switch SC, no?
*
Yes, but on paper, AASPs here have the right to reject RMA units that are not MY sets due to the condition that Iphone warranties are limited to the country they are purchased from.

Japan iPhone is the cheapest outside of US. Depend on Currency rate, a 256GB Pro Max is 900-1000 Cheaper than Malaysia. Japan's sale tax exemption applied for tourist, so that's the price you pay, right in Apple Store in Japan, just show them the passport.

In US, 8% sale tax is the norm, adding the tax on the same handheld save you RM200-300.

As i replied in OP post, Apple devices are great in pricing as oppose in Malaysia if you can hunt for a discount, epecially the online store in official Amazon and BHphoto but you will need a physical US address and credit card to make online purchase while you were there, so it's not that simple.

FYI, i used to live there for 20 years.
*
Alright. Good explanation there. I guess the only downside for Jap sets are those who are into voyeurism cant take upskirt photos because their shutter sound cant be turned off no matter what. laugh.gif

If buy in Japan after unbox to ck thr condition and keep it back in the box, would I get tax in Japan and Malaysia Airport?
*
You could be asked to apply Sirim and get taxed as well. Tip, carry the phone as you would hand carry your current phone. The box leave it in the check in luggage.
