If ur room is small, get the Mako, if it's spacious, get the Z5500, for movie, z5500 will gv you better experience of coz, for music , Mako is sufficient, also do try out Edifier 5.1 which falls within the price range of Z5500 and Mako.

Haha, after listening to my Sennheiser IE8 IEM for sometimes, I somehow feel that the clarity of the Edifier S730D is not as gd as I felt it used to be tongue.gif

For Musics and gaming, I would recommend you to go for Edifier S730D if you choose 2.1 and S550D or Logitech Z5500 for 5.1. In between S550D and Logitech, I think you'd better go for audition urself to find the one that suits u the most, however, since you're not using it for movies, I guess the 2.1 S730D will do.

Actually, just because they're THX certified, it doesn't mean they're better than those speakers without the certification, e.g the Edifier speakers. You're actually paying for the THX certificate and IMO it doesn't pretty justify the price.

Pretty gd eh the Ifi, can be used as both for PC and iPod, I was hoping that Edifier will come out with something like that as well. The IF500 darn freaking expensive man, I would rather grab a gd IEM than getting the speaker for iPod xD

Yea, the Apple Universal Dock, used to hv them before I sold them away xD It's kinda expensive for the dock ~Rm200 xD Crazy apple stuff rclxub.gif

I think these external soundcard can't compete with those "internal" one, however, you can try the Maya if you've got pretty gd budget for SC, otherwise grab the Asus Xonar U1, Creative X-FI 5.1 or Creative X-Mod will do.

If you've ady fixed ur mind on the Logitech Z5500, then stop confusing urself and get it ady. The Z5500 is really nice although it's a little bit pricey to me, the quality of the sound is superb, you can use it for music as well no prob, provided ur room has to be big enough to place them.

Yes, you'll definitely need a soundcard not matter what speaker you're using. Don't tell me you're not using any SC for ya MX5021? xD If you're getting S730D, it'll bring you a lot of trouble coz you're staying at hostel... Ur housemates and ur neighbours above, below and beside you will keep on visiting you tongue.gif
