Hey everyone, i'm planning to get AL MX5021 soon, how's the review from u all? my budget is 600 max..lol
*
The new batch of MX5021 doesn't seem to be very gd in comparison with the old batch, may be you should consider getting Aego m at Rm620 only.

Is there any better speaker (5.1 or 2.1 or any) than Aego M for it's price range? It will be mainly for gaming and music.
*
Edifier S530D may be.

Hmm, but the MX5021 and S730D didn't receive good review from hardwarezone? I'm still using the default Realtek soundcard on my mobo, changing my speaker first. What if I want both detail and bass? ><
*
Again, you can't fully trust those reviews, trust ur own ears my frens, diff ppl has diff needs, also reviews tend to be biased. Thus, I suggest you pay a visit to the nearby shops that carry those babies and try them out urself.

Hmm, where can I try them out? LYP has them? Which shop? Where else can I try them?
*
ALL-IT Hypermarket is a better place for audition in my opinion coz they placed all those speakers in a row, easier for comparison whereas in Sri-Com those speakers are scattered everywhere so it's kinda hard to compare them unless you've got gd "audio" memory xD

Not really, I think the All-IT sellers are more frenly, whenever you reached the speaker sections, the chinese guy sure comes and serves you, explain everything to you and let you try all the speakers, whereas when I went to Sri-Comp, there's nobody there, not even a promoter standing there xD Some more they don't turn on those speakers for testing, they only switched on those brands like Eacan and Sonic Gear doh.gif

Yeah . . . that will be in my list, any other recommendations below it?
*
Edifier S530D, AL MX5021, Aego m 2.1, Klipsch GMX 2.1, Edifier S330D

Edifier S530D weak is kinda weak compares to MX5021 but clarity wise it beats MX5021 no doubt. Aego m bass also not very strong but it's well known for instrumental musics/Jazz I guess. Klipsch GMX 2.1 used to be a very nice speakers as well, but I don't think All-IT still hv them, may be you'll hv to look at other place.

Hey guys,
I need recommendations for a 2.1 speaker.Budget around RM250 - RM300.
Main purpose for gaming, sub purpose for music.

My currently list
M3300
VS4121
ATP3
M3400

I am seeking for you guys opinions.Thx a lot.
*
If you don't mind 2nd hand unit, may be you can consider getting Edifier S330, this one should be better from the list of speakers listed above. Otherwise for gaming purpose, I say get the VS4121 coz it's bass is pretty gd and I guess that's what a gamer would hv wanted.

I see, sounds troublesome . . .are there any SC that runs on PCI slot? I think it is, the slightly shorter slot compared to PCIE slot.
*
It's weird that you say ur graphic card is preventing you from installing soundcard. I thought there's quite a distance between the 2 slots on the board?

Actually yes, GC with big fan/heatsink can block the PCI-E (the small one) port if the port is located beside/right-side the old PCI port. But some mobo put the small PCI-E on the right side of the PCI-e x16, so it wont block the port no matter how big the GC it is because most of fan/heatsink is located at the left-side of the GC.
*
I see, haha, sry for my ignorant coz I'm not really gd at desktop thingy xD

I will definitely try them.
Just want to do a bit research before buying. icon_idea.gif
I have no experience on these audio thingy, now I am using a brandless speaker.
*
I'm not quite sure about M3400 but I owned the 4121 and it's pretty I would say for the price, especially for gaming coz the subwoofer is quite powerful. Anyway, if you've got time, no harm go for an audition at the shop.

Same here, point me at gun point I also won't crack open my speakers just to see what's inside xD You can hear the diff of the old and new stocks, the diff are pretty pronounce. My guess is they used cheaper materials in order to save costs, certain parts also went missing doh.gif

yea, especially for student, dang hard to save money, but RM100 isn't that hard la actually, reduce the frequency of DOT.A-ing and midnight don't go yam cha with frens can ady xD

You got me a little bit confused here, ain't the Lear le01 an IEM? Lol you're asking us to compare an IEM to a speaker? sweat.gif If you're just using the IEM at home then yea, a speaker will always sound better than the IEM I guess.

wakao, u categorised z5500 as entry level 5.1 speaker? lolz, erm, i just need it for my hostel, no need z5500 gua? any other recommendations?
*
For hostel I think it's better than you get a 2.1 instead of 5.1 coz the room is pretty small, by placing 5 speakers inside the small room, the interference might affect the performance, just my opinion. Z5500 indeed is an entry level for 5.1.

Headphone is best way to enjoy music or movie during midnight, unless u do sound proofing or u live in wide open space no house next to u.
*
Haha, totally agree with you man, especially when you live in an apartment, the last time I checked I was only watching the movies in the midnight for less than 15 minutes before my housemates sent bunches of complaint msgs to me xD

headphone can damage your ears because its direct sound to your ear drum when speakers it needs to project the sound from a distance. Long term u will be half deaf.

Its like u know big BOOM BOX or huge speakers u put your ears near it with loud music u sure go deaf for awhile.

I recommend for long hours use a speaker.
*
You should be at safe hand if you're not on the headphone for more than 8 hours, after all I found that the construction site beside my apartment produces more noise than the headphone does.

Razor Mako then laugh.gif

Mako is a little bit off his budget, around RM1200++, but may be you should consider it coz the size of Mako is pretty small, easier to bring it overseas.

which series is good? or is there any other compact and light, but yet powerful ones?
*
According to our fellow forumer Proclaimer, the performance of Razer Mako is as gd as Edifier S730D, I've not heard it yet so far coz I'm not really convinced by Gaming peripheral xD The size is pretty small, the satellite speakers are only about the size of aego m satellite speakers, the subwoofer is round in shape one, smaller than AL VS4121 sub. You can check the pic of the speakers at bulk order or music and audio accessories section there.
