To me Sony and Samsung is not really real hifi, tho they branded themselve that way. Thats why some ppl like to refer to real hifi as high end audio i think.

Z5500D never had a problem with the pod in 3 yrs.

What will be the best setting or right setting? for movie, i believe it really good, but for music, i dont think so. i think most ppl here really interest with your words..and ur Pioneer HIFI system lose to 5500? shocking.gif
*
Well i guess that the pioneer model he have maybe is not very good. In that case, the Z5500 could be better.

Z5500 is a good speaker! But it does not shine in music. I use Direct Stereo Mode, built in driver of PSC805, foobar2000, volume 40%, sub 2 and 1/3 bar. It took me 3 yrs of listening to arrive to this setting. rclxub.gif But my hifi easily pwn it, but ofcoz cant compare like that cause the price difference is too much (return to topic as this is pc speaker thread). Z5500 lacking clarity of what i have heard from edifiers and realism of instruments. Tho soundstaging is excellent thumbup.gif

Z5500 is better for games and movie as it really has the bass for that boom effect.

Just my opinion so dun flame me, im also a Z5500 owner and i love it smile.gif

need to play higher volume? max meh? sked will spoil me speaker tongue.gif

what is pink noise eh?  hmm.gif mayb need to googling d..

Just use ur speaker as usual, dont really need to put effort into burn in. After some use, ur speaker will reach its optimum working state. Dont need use pink noise. Just ur regular music. If ur in a hurry, just let it run continuosly for 24hours then it will be fine. As for volume, use it at your comfortable listening level, dont wanna disturb others in the house, then when there are no one around then maybe u can crank it a bit above normal listening level.

There are a few school of thought but to me, a speaker shud sound nice even before burn in and better after burn in, but for speaker, i dont experience much difference after letting it run for a day. But for IEM, i do feel mine changed after 100 hours and pretty much stabilise after that. I have heard a audiophile tell me he only buy used speakers cause he says it saves him 1 year of burn in sweat.gif

I think the vibration wont effect it much. More risky is the magnetic interference subs give out which means that you cant put it near HDD, PC or TV. If you look at other HT sifu's pics, they dun really put vibration absorbers for their PS3.

my only worry is, if i'm going to buy a 5:1, how do i mount those rear speaker hmm.gif 2" above normal ear level is just too low for my living room, if place high above will it have any effect on the sound quality??
*
Rear surround should always be above ear level. Never aim directly. I have seen my friend HT where he mount his surround above the door.

I think, in the long run, it would be a good investment to up your budget more bro.

Guarentee you will be more satisfy. Instead of later regret.

I have play PS2 in 5.1 thru optical on my Z5500, let me tell you... nice.... wont regret.

Somehow i feel lack of tweeter in Z4 is actually a bad thing, so i vote for edifier.

VS4121 the bass is not tight at all.

My sub hole also aim to my table with 2 inch clearance... space constraint otherwise would move to right side table....

my L and R is beside my 22inch... and CPU is on table beside R speaker... i move cpu to table from floor and i feel this is bad causing a lot of reflection and make me feel i listening to music in a tunnel... and harsh treble....

previously i put L and R to extreme edge of table + cpu on floor... 1.3m apart... lovely...

this weekend im gonna reposition cpu again... so can spread L and R more....left of table occupied by my new amp, tat y i reposition....
