oh.. havent comfirm yet. Cos still waiting others computer shop new C2D price.

I think Penang's computer shop will bring in E6850 recently as it alrd drop below RM1K.

oh. Phoenixwunin, what is the purpose you want to buy this processor? play games?
*
Yeah.. playing games onli.. nothing else.

Previously was thinking of getting Q6600 instead of E6850... but lots of reviews in the internet and forumers here suggested me to take E6850 anytime over Q6600. So now I'm looking for E6850. Have been going around Penang for the last two days... and the only shops that sells E6550 and above is Skygate Technologies in Prangin Mall. And currently they don't have anything above E6550... one of the sales person told me the new stock will arrive in this coming Wednesday though. But he said to me E6850 won't be available... sad.gif

There will be no cuts until the end of the yr. No point cutting price while AMD has nothing to offer better.

Maybe there will be price cuts when penryn come out. Then sure current 65nm processor will be slowly eliminated.

if upgrade to either q6600 or e6850, why 6850 will be better? the only thing i know is quadruple generates more heat, what's other reason?

From wat i read at reviews and benchmarks. The Q6600 does well in video decode and encoding . Almost all quad defeat the high FSB E6x50 series . But when cum into audio , E6x50 turn over and slightly win Quad Proc . As for the design software like 3DS and so on , the Quad win those high FSB at rendering.

Can anybody explain those to us rclxub.gif icon_question.gif
What included when audio encode ?

From what I read a review last time :
in terms of 3D rendering, video encoding, Q6600 will be better ;
in terms of gaming, E6850 will perform better than Q6600.

Yes, Q6600 will generates more heat than E6850, reason? 4 core vs 2 core, what do u say? blush.gif

Quad would definately better for programs that require much CPU computation... But for gaming, its wont be utilized fully.

So when gaming , the result mostly effect by FSB not cores ?

since most game cannot utilise the quad core to its advantage, the quad core operates similarly like the dual core i guess...so of course the higher clocked dual core e6x50 would outperform the quads theoritically.

Just get Q6600 then oc. Get ready for the future, developers are working to utilise multi-core system architecture.
