Yup. Even though I've just got my E6750, I'm already preparing for the penryn CPU!!!

btw any time frame suggestion for penryn to be launch, i also thinking of setting up another rig with quadcore......

Ya lo. My 939 was still capable of playing current games although not at full settings. Upgrading in preparation of DX10 games. Last part to get is the 8800 GC (WHEN good DX10 games comes out).

The Penryn family is supposed to be introduced at Q1 2008.....

Is it still worth 2 get a E6600 proc now as the price slash alr started.. i can get one with cheap price..around RM400...

U may turn to buy G9x series if ur waiting much longer or u accidentally buy 8series and a few weeks 9series come out...

hehe, properbly nowaday no good game in PC worth me to upgrade my system. My 2.4 presscott still working good on Dota and .net programming. Even some graphic render project. Yup. price cut in intesting for upgrading, but i can't see the purpose for me to upgrade since my current p4 can do everything i need. hehe save the money for wii , xbox360 or a great sound system better.

RM400 is a really good price. However, you have to consider a few things unless the difference to you is not important.

E6600 - 2.4Ghz (9x266), FSB 1066Mhz, older generation proc (but so what?!)
E6750 - 2.66Ghz (8x333), FSB 1333Mhz (need newer mobo to support), newer generation, supposedly a better overclocker, can get in bulk for RM55x if you don't mind waiting

Yup ur explaination is fair enough...anyway i might wait till next week n c if my fren can update me about the availability of the newest proc... and 1 more things is tat now still not reach end of d month so not yet get my salary 2 buy new pc...hohoho...

besides tat, it's technically illegal for ur fren to get for u, using his staff priveleges

Not tat serious la brother...By the way the company should expect tis kind of issue alr la not onli INTEL but other product oso like NIKE, GIODANO, etc... anyway i onli know tat INTEL limits their stuff from buying onli 1 discounted proc per month....

Then u need to be friend with more Intel staff to get more discounted proc...

i get so many 4 wat...one enough 4 me alr at least few years...

1 discounted proc per month? Some people are just plain lucky. Can you actually buy the proc then sell it off cheap cheap too?

Dont compared ur discounted price here. Not fair to others. If u can get it cheap then its ur own good unless u can sell it to others(in bulk orders).

replaced by the E6750 which contains a higher FSB. However do expect most stores to have the E6600
