EMUI 10 will be something new or should I say copy from OneUI? Haha. Huawei is close but not there yet.

QUOTE(zorbyss. @ Aug 27 2019, 11:43 AM)
Yeah man. I watch the preview from ZingGadget. I was like isn't that One UI? Copy max weh even the design language.
it'll take some time before EMUI mature, like it took years for TouchWiz is become what One UI is now.
but i'm happy they putting innovation on the table to keep Samsung and Apple in check.
*
Some things I appreciate in EMUI9.1, coming from Mate9.
The notification on top, when we receive OTP, TAC, is too small n quick to disappear. In EMUI, normally still can see the codes without having to tap the notification.

Any way to tweak this?

Also like the EMUI full gesture implementation, back gesture is not restricted to 1 part of the bottom, but the full length of both sides.

To change it, need to install other launchers?

Note 10 users, any complaint on the battery life? Still hesitating. Arh!!!! Curent phone battery is driving me insane.
*
Power profile: medium power saving, but CPU speed limitation off.

Dual SIMs, mostly on Wifi for the first half.

Tested charging with original 25W charger after N10+ went dead.

Concurred with YouTubers figure, around 1h 8m till full, in off mode.

Unfortunately that’s an inherent issue with Samsung phones. Standby times are just not that great.

And the signal reception πŸ˜‘

Btw how's your phone signal reception  ?
*
I noted down the signal reading on my Mate9 before switching. At my office desk, it is generally -10 dBm weaker on the N10+.
Compared with my colleague's Mate20p, his is also about -11 dBm stronger.
Both comparisons with the same operator.
This could be the difference between being able to make a call or surf when the signal is already weak doh.gif

On the charging side, I noticed Sammy does not differentiate the name when it comes to charging speed.

Charged with my power bank of 5V/2A; 9V/2A output ratings, it said fast charging.
But it is definitely not taking 18W, 'cos my power bank will show a different color LED if it does.

Switching to my car charger, it also said fast charging, but the time to full charge is shorter... I suspect it is running at 15W.
So, if Sammy do differentiate the charging names, perhaps they can encourage users to better utilize their phones icon_idea.gif

Anyone know of power bank supporting both 15 and 18W output icon_question.gif

Can only swipe down in home screen, not globally
Previously with a physical fingerprint scanner, can do it anywhere - even in games πŸ˜‚

QUOTE(zoixc @ Sep 4 2019, 01:48 AM)
oh i tot you were saying at home screen haha.

true that, i miss the old finger print sensor on my old mate 10 so much, that one is just so much faster tbh
*
QUOTE(stormaker @ Sep 4 2019, 06:53 AM)
For me it's one of the tech that solved my dilemma when buying phone. Last time when choosing phone I was always torn between front or back fingerprint sensor. Back fingerprint looks nicer but couldn't unlock phone with fingerprint without lifting the phone. Front fingerprint sensor looks outdated.
*
Same for me, I told myself that front FP no need to lift phone.

I overcome the notification pull down issue by installing additional gesture software.

For me, on either edge, swipe in for back, up for home, down for notification. Notification pulling works inside apps, but not sure for during gaming.

Samsung should give more options for gesture, utilizing the space on the edges.
Current option not so convenient given the size of the phone, especially N10+.

Before I got this phone, a friend in WA group already complained about her 2 months old A series mobile data being very slow, wifi intermittent, compared to her previous phone.

Just discovered a neat trick to access recent apps in the new update (hope im not late to the party tongue.gif )

If you swipe to the right from the nav bar and hold (home -> recents)

It activates a swipe-able bar for you to quickly access your recents
*
Nav bar at the bottom? Seems like Android 10 feature.

Tested. Works when navigation buttons r shown.
Swipe from home to right only.
Not necessarily to Recent, as I tried setting Recent on the left n right side.

Wont work in full screen gesture mode though.

Still waiting for Android 10 native gesture where Back can be performed from the side edges. Then I can uninstall the MyGesture app I'm having.

In places with good cellular reception, usually developed countries, i notice my battery life almost double.

However battery life is disappointingly isn't much better Vs Note9. However I still say is acceptable with average at least 8 hours SOT without gaming on mix of LTE and mobile data
*
May I suggest the issue may be partly due to signal reception issue πŸ€”

If u still hv ur Note9, can check the signal strength inside About Phone, Status, SIM card status.

Past few days SOT barely past 6 hours.
Unless places u frequent hv strong signal, battery will dive quickly.

Overnight drops an average of ~1%/hour πŸ˜”

But memory is bad...

QUOTE(benny888 @ Sep 10 2019, 05:09 PM)
Never bother to put any app to sleep...don't see the point. Save battery - negligible I would say. I still get at least 8 to 9 hours SOT which is more than good enough for me
*
What r ur settings?
I hv to go extra miles to off a lot of things.
No AOD, FHD+, put less frequent apps into sleeping list...

Simple, it means Oxygen OS better manages its ram and battery usage making it a more refined OS. Users dont have to go through the trouble of uninstalling apps, turning off features etc to make battery usage more bearable. Samsung Experience still has a lot to improve on these areas.
*
Yet Samsung is one of the earliest pioneers in phones n android.

Was told S8 was good in term of battery compared to older models, so I thought N10 would be better.

Probably not enough competition for them in the USA, else we would hv gotten higher quality.

But WA always use the wide angle camera.

Can we make other camera as default?
*
U can flip the main n front camera inside WA until u get the wideness that u want.

It wont switch to tele mode though, only wide n ultra wide.

LOLz.....USD$50 for the 45w charger and the reviewer thinks it's not worth spending that money for a minimal increase in charging times.

Buy another 25W charger for office use n keep the balance in ur pocket.
