use hand plane for some of the joining areas, most of areas use random orbital.

if unevenness is too serious, then put into a 4feet widebelt sander.

My first option will be Walnuts, but seems it's hard to get it locally, and my 2nd option will be local wood, prefer medium/ dark brown colors.

In term of quantities, 1" x 12" x 9'- 5 pieces.

collected over 3-4years from 8-10 different importers which specialize in woods from different continents (like north america, south america, aussie, europe and africa).
while local solid wood like nyatoh and balau would be from local sawmills.

yea u got good taste, walnut is very nice, but damn expensive.

i can recommend african teak called afromosia. its dark medium brown tones. used to build original mid century designer furniture.. in 60-70s..
we so happen to have such things in stock.. hehe..
do you have a pic of what u plan to build? so we can recommend only reserving the 9feet pieces for parts u need full length. if need to cut to half, then use 4-5feet..its slightly cheaper.. (optimizing cost as 9-10feet timber cost 20-30% more than two 4-5feet timbers since its not as common as short length items)

Thanks for your suggestion, Walnut is good, but i'm still open for suggestions. Maybe can consider for African Teak wood, instead of half cut 4 or 5 feet I still prefer 9' in length. Prefer less joint of the wood.

cool. 5pcs of 9feet lumber. width for 12inch rough sawn boards will be around 11.5inches after machining to smoothen the edges
. i think shouldnt be issue. but just to mention.

also, timber is in rough sawn condition with furs and all, if you need them planed smooth also can. we can process them until they become flat solid wood panels, then u just have to assemble the panels like ikea biggrin.gif
