True.

My wife BFF's EX also like that.

After went to Aussie fruit picking, keep boast to her BFF saying he is earning good money yo.

Now that illegal dude has all his documents expired, also working as blue collar worker now, keep boasting her BFF earning 1K AUD per weeek yo!

In the end her BFF dumped him because that guy thought earning AUD now like king  laugh.gif

Don't know why so many comments about how much cash to bring....that is not the main criteria....nowadays it's cashless transactions....use BP card for best exchange rates...

Only if they suspect you, then the money bit becomes a consideration.....but it's never the main focus....

Some countries eg USA do insist on proof you have enough money for your trip.....but that's usually at application for your visa....

Oh really? Out of the 10k applying, what’s the success rate? Or they know success rate is damn low, just looking for excuse of waiting for result and then meanwhile work?
*
I don't think very high.....but once an appeal is lodged, you are then legal, can stay on a bridging visa and work.....till decision is made, which can take years....

QUOTE(aspartame @ Aug 8 2019, 02:42 PM)
Do u know how long they have records till?

They have my 1988 entry.....I would think such records are never erased.....

still no clear explanation on cash entry requirements
*
There isn't any cash requirement....it's only an adjunct information during interrogation, when the money a person has does not commiserate with claims.....

If you don't get profiled, you can walk in with zero AUD..... nobody cares.....

Kena deny then tough shit. As foreigner you are not entitled to enter a country if their immigration says so.
Blame those sohai fruit pickers who damage our reputation as no.1 illegal immigrant in Australia, not the ALOs doing their job.
You wouldn't like it if many illegal immigrants keep coming into Malaysia also.
*
Eh.....there are some 2mil illegal immigrants in msia....no?

Lol

I somehow feel their profiling sometimes pretty spot on.... one time i went there with a bag of salted egg fish skin by irwin (bought from singapork for my friends and cousins there)... The officers actually called me aside somehow knowing im carrying something prohibited shocking.gif
Luckily i did tick that i have something to declare  (as any animal products is actually not allowed to be brought in, including deep fried fish skin) so cukur it went smoothly.
*
If you have ticked yes to anything, you are automatically pulled to investigate....they don't always will search, they will ask what you are declaring....and if your list is deemed ok, and you are not profiled, they will wave you through....if they search, they will dump those stuffs prohibited and wave you through....

They are generally more suspicious of those who ticked no....and if they profiled you already, they will search....and fine you if they find stuffs....

Exactly my point. If our country had very strict immigration rules like how Australia now has to profile Malaysians entering the country, we can cut down the number of illegal immigrants in Malaysia.
*
Msia don't seem to care much ....in any case, they don't come in by flight and overstay.....they just come through the jalan/kapal tikus along the porous border....so strict at airport no use.....

Cannot survive on $750 a week?
You sure?
*
After tax, it wouldn't be....at 36k, I think tax is 25%.....plus 2% Medicare levy....

A room at share rental in reasonable area with utilities is already 200/week....higher in syd/Mel.....

36k pa is really borderline poverty ...... equivalent to say, 2k pm MYR in KL.....

If its fruit picking, surely they can get much cheaper accommodations in the countryside?
*
Of course they do.....these illegal fruit pickers generally live on the farm, they don't mind basic cramp living conditions, don't pay any taxes, and save their money ....

That's the whole point of the exercise....work and save for a few years.....they know eventually they will be found out and have to leave... Hopefully not before saving enough to justify the whole exercise....

Not really, I used to work in a regional area. Fruit picking, chicken handling, commercial cleaning....I've done that to pay my way through uni.

Room for rent was 130 a week in 2008 in a regional area. Not inclusive of utilities.

Remember utilities have a large base charge here regardless of whether you use them or not, and in countryside areas electricity and gas are 30 to 40 percent more expensive sometimes due to the cost of servicing rural areas.

I though you drove taxi......
