actually quite a good plan for its price and speed, most importantly, it is unlimited.

will sign up for one if it is released to general public.

Do note that for new subscriptions are priced at RM129, not the "discounted" RM79.
Isn't it better to take other unlimited plans?

Whether it's pricing, speed or coverage, TM is definitely a loser in ever single segment. Still can't accept that this is a viable solution for most Streamyx users.
*
wah... how come rm129?

if rm129 certainly not worth it. might as well go for other unlimited plan.

but too bad i dun like DxGx. I only consider Maxis and Celcom if it is unlimited plan. other telcos all cannot make it even it is unlimited.

Depending on your area I guess? Some areas with better coverage will definitely benefit.

Not a big fan of TM right now. Their representative are just incompetent and useless.  ranting.gif
Complaints are also useless as they will just say no fibre coverage or TDD coverage in your area, so just wait till "God" knows when and then if you're still interested.

true. indeed.

my house when i first moved in i have two years without unifi, it is so suffering to have no fibre broadband nowadays.

lucky i have unifi at my house now. tongue.gif with fast internet speed at home, one can really have a lot more free entertainment at home.

think will forget about it at this point unless the price is really rm79. still hope maxis and celcom to come out with real unlimited data plan even the price is higher. they are the only two telcos can really make it.

Yup, I do agree.
I'm used to having their turbo-ed speeds @800Mbps and now they expect me to use 8 Mbps line? Compromises were made since their useless representatives told me to wait for their Unifi AIR since early July.

Doesn't Maxis have that MaxisONE plan where it's unlimited as well? Don't think Celcom has one.
*
no le. maxis only has limited data plan. maximum is 60gb at rm188 with unlimited calls and sms. no unlimited data.

Because I see people "renting" their Maxis SIM cards with unlimited data in the forums.
*
that one is becos they have both maxis postpaid and maxis broadband. so they get their maxis postpaid line free with unlimited data.

Haha, yeah and since you have Unifi Fibre coverage, you can opt for Maxis Fibre and then get that plan as well? Win-win
*
still within contract. maybe after that will considers

but maxis broadband seems to have more complaints over unif. So will be hesitate to do it also.

have been using unifi for years, no issues so far. Scare change to maxis broadband and end up with more hassles.

Not too sure about the complaints, guessing it's also affected by the area.
Pros and cons right?

I've migrated from Unifi to TIME and now to ViewQuest, like who doesn't love symmetrical upload and download speeds?
*
true. just for broadband port out to other telcos again will get tied up with 24 months contract again. if speed/experience is not satisfactory, will be vormitting blood for long time.

I tot you said u are using unifi 800Mbps now?

Used to.
But 1Gbps is too much of a temptation not to switch right? Prices are "cheaper" too.
*data hording addiction as well
*
I see. view quest their plan is indeed attractive. symmetric speed is indeed good. But check out their website, the coverage is damn limited, only few apartments are available. u are lucky to have the coverage.

besides, does 800Mbps/1Gbps make significant difference in real life comparing to 100Mbps?

for example, for torrent etc, can get full speed?

Yes, I sort of rented that apartment just for that! haha

It makes a huge difference, especially when you have multiple desktops hooked up to the network plus a NAS.
Yes, torrenting is absolutely fine, I could usually hit 90% of the bandwidth mostly with multiple downloads, do note that you need a better router for that.
*
I see. then it is good indeed. 😜

according to live chat TM, u can keep it after contract
*
i see. then not too bad to sign this plan to use for on-to-go since it is unlimited.

becos the huawei modem itself already costs rm6xx to 7xx.

Unifi might change the tnc anytime and is that any black & white stated we can keep after contract end?

FAQ said that one needs to return the device. that's why this is the confusing part.

Do I need to return the unifi Air device when I terminate the service without any penalty?
 Yes, you will need to return the device and its packaging in good working condition to any of our TMpoint outlets.

Hey guys, I will be living in Malaysia for around a year. Found this forum when scouring around the internet. Thinking to get unifi air since the free wi-fi in my place is really bad. Random disconnects every 10 or 20 minutes, 300 ping spikes in video games. So how is Unifi Air? Is the ping stable for gaming when you use cable? Thanks.
*
impossible mobile data can be suitable for online gaming. the loaded latency is too high for that.

i am playing mobile game but i never play on mobile data becos the latency is too high which it causes me to lose (totally frustrating).

only use my unifi fibre broadband and the latency is excellent.

Hi, I have just started using Unifi Air last week, I've taken the SIM only plan bcuz I wanted to test the performance of Unifi Air. Before I decided to try this Unifi Air, I did do some research on whether the SIM can be use in mobile phone as Hotspot, I've checked with TM Point, their live chat customer service and even some tutorial videos on Youtube, the answer I've gotten is yes, can be use on mobile phone.

Upon receiving the SIM card, I slot into my smartphone to test on the connection & hotspot, everything is good until night time, suddenly there is no signal at all & no Unifi as carrier. Then, I quickly slot into my spare old phone it can be use, however on the next day, even that phone is having the same issue that all signal has lost.

Then, I approach their Live Chat CS, some ppl tell me can only be use on Modem, but some said can also use on phone. The frustration part is I've requested to speak to the Technical team but I've waited for one whole week, nobody bothers to call me or give me an email for the update of my issue. I think probably this is some new T&C imposed in this year, whereby last time can be use as hotspot, which explain why when I firstly insert into my phone it's works, but after few hours, it became No Service.

I lost confidence with Unifi service and I'm in the midst of porting out for Maxis Fibre.

The only reason of this should be the fact that ur phone does not have the bands needed to work for unifi air.
