Their coverage map cacat mia.
They offer me unifi air for my old house, map show blue color, huawei show 4G.
I take the device to another 2 location without coverage, map no color but huawei show get 4G+ and the speed was faster

without coverage of the 4G+ still can use 4G speed? That’s not bad. Does it drop to 3G in some places?

Unifi Air dont have 2G 3G quota
4G usage only

so if the area don't have TM 4G signal, totally cannot connect at all via 3G?

Also does Unifi Air and Unifi mobile share the same 4G/LTE cell towers? because on Unifi Mobile coverage check the 4G coverage is A LOT while on Unifi Air coverage check is it tiny.

yes share same tower.

the reason unifi air coverage seems tiny because during marketing they promise 20mbps speed. this speed cannot reach if on Band 5. must band 40 or band 38. hence the coverage map for unifi air only shows places with band 40 and band 38.

in reality. unifi air sim cards will connect to 4G Band 5 band 38 and band 40. it will not connect to 3G like unifi mobile can.

im unifi air user putting the sim in my Huawei Mate 20 and Samsung A90

oh, so if the area has 4G band 5, unifi air can still work right?

I'm using Unifi Air in TM Band 5 area, there is still no Band 40 at my place.
So my area are out of Unifi Air coverage Area.
I'm apply only SIM card and test.  biggrin.gif

I try Unifi Air with Dlink 921 200meter near the Band 5 tower, get 15-20mbps download.
My home 2km far away to Tower, get 1-9mbps.  smile.gif

Anybody know which APN of unifi air that provides unrestricted NAT instead of the restricted NAT3?

If unifi mobile can tether 4G/LTE by setting the unifi APN, does that unifi air can work too?

I asked at tmpoint, the customer service confirmed with their managers and told me that because I'm still waiting my home address to be installed with unifi fibre (maybe take few months), I can apply for the unifi air with modem (2 years contract). When they install the fibre to my house, it is considered as an upgrade over unifi air and i can return the unifi air modem and the contract will be voided as i would continue new 2 years contract with unifi fibre, the catch is it must be my account and at both registered at the same house address. Anybody of you has experienced something like this?

It seems TM just upgraded their LTE at my area to band 40 now from the previous band 5 only.
