Does anyone have any information on the issue of the supply of the B618 routers?

I was put on the waiting list on first week on Jan and they said probably 2-3 weeks.

I went back to TM point on Fri and they said probably another month and their HQ didn't tell them when routers will be back in stock

In Georgetown, Penang if location is relevant.

I just moved to a new area with no Unifi coverage. So no choice but to subscribe for Unifi Air although the area is not inside the coverage area. I tested the connection with my brother's Unifi Air's device so i am aware of the connection speed is quite ok. Surprisingly the TM staff just let me register for Unifi Air with my address outside the official coverage area but just repeatedly warn me that any connection and coverage issue they will not entertain if i come back to complain later. Got a new B618 on the spot without any issue. I stay in JB area.

And to my pleasant surprise, the Unifi Air connection is actually not bad. Can still play online game like Apex Legend (ping around 60-100ms). But the connection can be a little spiky once in a while.

So when you are inside non Unifi Air coverage area, could you please check your network service provider is still under Unifi or Celcom?
Sometimes I came across some ppl say if don't have unifi coverage area, it will roam to Celcom network... But I'm not sure 3G or 4G.. Perhaps you can check it too also for your knowledge too..

Correct me if I'm wrong...

Can share how to check inside the Huawei B618 modem? hmm.gif I din see any Celcom wording inside the UI of the modem anywhere. Only can see Unifi.

And the speed just bump up to 45-48mbps (from TM speedtest) since yesterday from average 20-25mbps before yesterday. Dunno this speed bump will last or not. sweat.gif

Thanks for your explanation.
So far I did not have B618 modem, still funding some budget of that because it's over-pricing now..

Another thing, if your network service showed "502153" not showing Unifi or celcom at all, that means it's still part under unifi tower.

I sign up for the 24 months contract so the B618 is free. Most likely mine is under Unifi.

Just check inside the Huawei B618, the modem is connected to "4G LTE Unifi", so i think it is Unifi own network, not using Celcom network.

Yes, i think using a better router will improve the quality of the connection. I use back my Asus RT-AC88 as router and it seems to give a more stable connections. But no scientific proof, just my "feel" when playing Apex Legend, much less laggy than connect directly to the modem's LAN port. thumbup.gif
