Do u mean BIM Revit?
Yes this is better performance than the I5 or I7-U CPU.

If you do compare from mobile workstation, the specs were comes with H CPU.

I bought this AMD for general use purpose such as entertainment.

You should check on site with their technical support.
That is fine for me, even tho single or double channel, as Long as cheaper price to get the laptop.

One thing delivery is long. But hope somehow can come earlier. Before I order I check other people say 8-10 days. Maybe cause sale, they take longer to ship out due to volume of orders.

I have 2 amd laptops now, both lenovo ideapads, one 5 years old (a8-6410), one bought in dec last year (r5 2500u).

Now I’m eyeing the ideapad s340 (nbplaza) for it’s slimmer profile and better battery life, but might just wait for ryzen2 next year.

Would love to get the ultrabook-ish asus vivobook now (techhypermart), but asus doesn’t offers the 15ā€ version here cry.gif

The problem with amd laptops now is not the performance or heat. Battery life also no issue now, ryzen gen2 greatly improved over gen1.

The problem is, manufacturers putting low end features for most amd laptops, and positioning them as low cost alternatives to intel i3/celeron. Getting a decent high end one is hard, there’s always a trade off somewhere.

Eg. single channel ram, soldered dimms, 1w speakers, usb 3.0 gen1 ports, no usb c (seriously asus tuf???), usb c not supporting alternate mode (dp/hdmi), wifi ac 1x1, BT 4.1, 720p 15ā€ screen (seriously lenovo L340???).

And poor cooling & heavy throttling:

Why didn’t consider for ThinkPad?
IdeaPad for more on entertainment purpose.
Asus laptop more on gaming.
Such as ThinkPad all comes with type C port or thunderbolt 3 port.
This is good for you to carry with PD adapter to reduces your weight.
Battery wise 2-3 years is consider very good d

This is when I'll get it. Funny thing is I think I'll get two cause I cancelled first order cause I wanted to change some configurations. And now they've shipped the first order mouse and backpack too.

That's why these amd thinkpads are a big deal. First time a company put in amd in their high end laptops.

Before this even Lenovo had the A series to differentiate between T and X series, only difference is like you said, lower spec quality and also lower build quality.

But this time the amd version T and X series have all the high end specs that the Intel version has including the military spec test laptop build.

Just for people info, amd laptop normally don't have thunderbolt port. This is due to some Intel licensing I think. But not big deal for me as I don't use thunderbolt or things like external GPU.
