Hey everyone. I'm planning to buy a new car for the first time and I always see those Ads where the car seller says "Instant rebate RMXXXX"
How much rebate do we get back usually? Lets say if I'm looking at Honda City & Honda Civic? Thanks in advance!

Im asking around and tops 6k for current accord 2.0. Curious to find some people posted it is possible for 5 figure for rebates somewhere in this forum. Honda Jazz is going for 7k rebate cash.

Just so you know...

The cash rebates have already factored into the car's selling price.

In the end, you should be focusing on the FINAL value/amount that you are paying for the car.

For example:
2 companies selling the exact same specs of Honda Civic.

Honda A Sdn Bhd
Selling Price: RM120,000
Cash Rebate: RM20,000
Final Amount: RM100,000 (You will be paying)

Honda B Sdn Bhd
Selling Price: RM105,000
Cash Rebate: RM5,000
Final Amount: RM100,000 (You will be paying)

In the end, the true value of the Civic could only be RM100,000.
Cash rebates is just a marketing tactic to draw in customers, to make them feel good by offering "LARGE" discounts.
But the truth is that those discount have been factored into the Selling Price.

Shop around other Honda distributors and see which one offers you the best deal.

Some dealers will offer more accessories or other services, instead of cash rebates. Such as better tint, better tires, free service (for 3 years), car coating, 1 full tank of petrol.

Tint that they offer is either jacked up in prices or rubbish anyway

There are rebates given by the dealer, and rebate/discount given by the Sales Advisor.

Do take into consideration the possibility that you will be offered lower trade-in value for existing car if the SA promises high discount. In my case, the final trade-in price was agreed upon when I collected the new car and surrendered the old car.

if the discount is not given by company, the the SA will usually fork out their own discount with their commission....so depend on which month...those free gift are also use the SA own comm to fork out.
