*
thankz Mr.Obvious rclxms.gif
how cheap is cheap while getting disc brake can improve ur brake performance?
disc brake = rm600
drum brake = rm300 maybe?
is the rm300 saving justity ur life worthness?
1 day ur life maybe be saved by the extra braking power by the disc brake.. who knows whistling.gif

QUOTE(young_soul @ Sep 24 2007, 08:38 AM)
you better go change it. I experience before the spring in the brakes rosak then the car couldn't move at all even with the handbrake let go. The car was like jammed in brake 24/7. Mechanic needed to go to the location to repair. Luckily the car was only in front of my relative's house. Imagine if you're at a highway whistling.gif
of coz nice and syok lo...price also nice and syok ma laugh.gif
actually from my knowledge...all 1.6cc and above cars are fitted with disc brake to help with 'stopping' the powerful engine tongue.gif and yes, because of that, all 1.6cc and above should be using all 4 brakes to stop the car. Our 1.3cc only uses the front and its not seriously sufficient enough. Sometimes I can feel the car moving a little too fast...while I'm driving slow sweat.gif maybe its the weight unsure.gif
*
not all 1.6L car equipped with drum brake though blush.gif

Install rear disc brake need jpj/puspakom inspection?
1.3 with rear disc brake, good or waste money?
*
yes, need.. if illegally change, later when u claim insurance in case anything happen, u get back ur drum whistling.gif

QUOTE(lee831219 @ Sep 24 2007, 11:37 AM)
no nit inspection. i dunno waste o not... as imperialrealcs state, mayb will safe ur life...
*
need but not nescessary.. even large road block wont even bother to check ur brake

QUOTE(young_soul @ Sep 24 2007, 12:12 PM)
you mean disc brakes izzit? sweat.gif

anyway the cost is not just RM600 and it is pointless to change. Coz cars with rear drum brakes I think is designed to only use front brakes when you step on the brakes pedal. All you're doing is making a better hand-brake. You need to add the cost of connecting brake pipes to the rear...which I have never heard of anyone doing before...
nonsense....absolute nonsense.
My un-modified car also sound like break half those rules laugh.gif
*
ya, i mean disc brake blush.gif

QUOTE(young_soul @ Sep 24 2007, 03:35 PM)
if your car's brake pedal is connected to the rear then can la...but what if its not? Then changing the rear brakes are kinda pointless isn't it?
*
btw, u ned to learn how brake works..
when u press on ur brake, all the 4 disc brake will work but not in same force (even for drum brake)
maybe 70% front n 30% back.. besides, changing to disc brake will not give u better hand-brake.. instead, u make it worst.. dont believe it?
drum brake shoe touches more on the wheel while disc brake only that small brake pad holding them.. generally, it is easier to force push a disc brake than a drum

got mech do wan meh?
you mean that we're already using all 4 brakes even if the rear is drum brakes? Can't be...I saw last time that cars with drum brakes only use the front to brake. I remember clearly coz there were diagrams to show how they work...
*
yes, we are using all 4 brakes even if the rear is drum.. there is a hose to transfer hydraulic oil to push the piston.. for more info, check out on the web that i posted.. i changed mine from drum to disc, im very sure bout that biggrin.gif

I don't mean totally disconnected la...just that front brakes connected to the brake pedal while rear brakes connected to the handbrake. Or at least that's how I remembered the diagram...
*
when u press the brake pedal, the force will go to master brake pump n it will push all the hydraulic oil via a hose to the whole brake system in ur car biggrin.gif
rear brake got extra cable to pull as e-brake

so u mean we caN SUE PROTON FOR GIVING 1.3/1.5 drum brakes la?
*
i really fed up with u doh.gif
well, maybe u cant read properly, i would juz rephrase in point form doh.gif
-his drum brake is damaged, he change back to drum
-instead of drum, im asking why drum where disc brake is juz around the price? maybe a tad expensive doh.gif

besides, why should i sue proton? drum brake not brake? for the car performance, drum brake is more than enough.. my point is, since he going to change another brake, then add more for disc lar.. if the drum brake no problem, go kacau for what doh.gif.. i dunno what u will come up with but definitely laugh.gif about ur post

QUOTE(lee831219 @ Sep 25 2007, 09:30 AM)

wah lau eh... change or not change to disc no need to debate leh. i need to replace one drum only, around 200++. if change to disc need around 600-900, then the workmanship fees also gonna be higher.

1 drum RM200 ohmy.gif ?

QUOTE(miragers @ Sep 25 2007, 11:26 PM)
''is the rm300 saving justity ur life worthness?''

u left out the part of ur post regarding whether saving the RM300 can justify the worth of your life(you can't even write it out properly in a sentence).
ur post are contradicting each other again.

''how cheap is cheap while getting disc brake can improve ur brake performance?''

''1 day ur life maybe be saved by the extra braking power by the disc brake.. who knows''

now u say drum brake is more than enough???
*
thats y i said im expecting some funny shiet sentence from u laugh.gif
1st thing 1st, i dont even understand what r u trying to say by quoting me doh.gif
2ndly, what so contradicting bout the both sentence?
''how cheap is cheap while getting disc brake can improve ur brake performance?''
kindergarten standard:
how cheap is a drum brake as compare with disc brake? getting a disc brake definitely improve ur brake performance
look at what he xxboxx said doh.gif
rm200 for a drum brake while 2 will cost rm400.. extra rm100 each tyre can get u a disc brake doh.gif

''1 day ur life maybe be saved by the extra braking power by the disc brake.. who knows''
ok, now, let me teach u what is the meaning of contradicting
from www.dictionary.com
see the 3 sentence that i bold?
that all lead the the same meaning, improving of brake performance doh.gif
that is supporting each other, how can u say that is contradicting? whats ur definition of contradict in the 1st place laugh.gif ?
besides, i did said the drum brake are more than enough for a 1.3/1.5 wira rite whistling.gif ?
maybe u miss it out whistling.gif
oh wait, u must be thinking since xxboxx is using 1.3./1.5 wira, why ned to change disc brake?
im suggesting that because since his drum brake is problematic, why not add lil bit extra for a disc brake?
do i get myself clear? or u cant understand if i write too much?
haha, im lz to reply to u.. by any means, go ahead and sue proton
xxboxx.. sorry but he started it lah
sue proton lol laugh.gif

well, since there's no spotlight there...and I already have spotlights at the side of the bumper...wanna remove it for better air-flow. And it does seem like a suitable place for the CAI hose later smile.gif
I saw someone selling his bumper...like mine...with that part removed. I think he saw it off or somethin.

@imperialrealcs/others, no offence but enough lah. That debate is going nowhere. This is most probably a case of miscommunication. The longer the conversation goes...the worse it gets. Let's shake and make up :hugs:

QUOTE(GKWong @ Sep 27 2007, 05:40 PM)
All of those "aeroplane sound" is caused by bad grounding. Normally when we rev the engine up and down, the whining sound follows as well because is our alternator generating voltage.
So to prevent this from happen, we can do our own grounding for the alternator with wire to the body. Although the alternator is already mounted to the body, but sometimes the manufacturer bolts that hold the alternator is not that good at grounding.
For some car audio that installed additional amplifier or equalizer, all these component should have a common wire that ground all of them to a same point at the body to prevent "ground looping" that may also causes whining sound.
*
but mine already grounded but still got sound?
