Did you turn off the "battery saver setting" for WhatsApp? That will put it in sleep mode.
At first, my WhatsApp also failed to receive msg on real time. Then i changed some settings, seems ok now.

2 things you can check.

Settings-battery-battery optimization-whatsapp-dont optimize

Applications-see all apps-whatsapp-data usage-enable background data & unrestricted background data

Also do this for youtube and maps. Generally anything that needs google sign in.

The battery so big so dun worry.

Really torn between this and my current iphone 11 pro max. All i can said that 11 pro max battery really impressive. But downside i dont really like ios.

Disadvantage ip11 pro max
1. Complicated transfer method. Itunes so on
2. Dual apps
3. Back button/gesture. Mybe coz im new im not really use to it. Coz some page or app or pop up cnt use gesture swipe. Need to back or quit at the upper side.

Disadvantage asus rog phone 2
1. Mybe software support. Observation on previous ver. Really2 make me stick with iphone.
2. Camera ok but not so ok.

I think asus price will not up to 3700. If yes people tend to buy other brand.
