Just gotten my rog 2 tencent version from China. Initial impressions (just used for a day):

1) phone is heavy. Hopefully will get used to it the next couple of days
2) hard case supplied is the same as zenfone 6. Not really a good one so will replace the ones I ordered from taobao. No screen protector
3) 120hz screen is superb. Can instantly tell the diff from 60/maybe 90hz screen
4) battery life is insane
5) Lucky for me no QC issues for my set. Hopefully can last me for a long while?
6) speaker is good, camera is kinda zenfone 6 quality
7) setup is easy. Able to select language as English
8) able to install google store from the preloaded Chinese store, hassle free
9) has widevine l1 out of the box(neflix HDR) and google pay works like a charm
10) overall, for the price I paid in feel its damn good value for money. But can't really tell the performance diff between SD 855 and 855+ in terms of gaming and heavy usage for now.will play with this baby for a few more days to give a more in depth review

My hypothesis :

1) To win the number one in the world title... (no prize it seems);

2) To abrupt the market by letting the potential buyers to wait for it and save cash before official MSRP is revealed;

3) To give reviewers the chance to thoroughly test the device(s) and push solid OTA(s) to general consumers;

4) To ensure investors don't run to Apple... LOL...

5) To ensure they are better than Apple at some category(ies);

6) To avoid congestion of manufacturing due to supply chain limits;

7) Other reasons beyond my/our reach...

By the way just saw Ali Express got few seller sell rog 2 tencent version already at rm2.2k plus...i never buy anything from ali express so donno how the packaging and custom clearance...mine got wooden box package and custom clearance...
