I think 5.5in for 720p is the max limit...could have been an awesome compact 5.5in and sd675

No, the problem is AMOLED+pentile arrangement. If it was normal LCD or AMOLED+RGB pixel arrangement that resolution is fine. Pentile really needs high resolution or you'll notice the pixels. I kept my Mi A2 for another year, or buy something else if it died.

Got samsung j6 5.6" pentile...look ok
Got redmi 5 5.7” rgb... look not so ok

So imho 5.5" HD+ should be good enough smile.gif

Finally bought Mi A3 for my wife. The white colour really cun and gorgeous. Not too fingerprint magnet like other phone that use glass on the back. Can use naked if you dare.

The camera is above average. Really good consider the price is below 1k. Color and sharpness easily beat my age iPhone 6s, and Honor 10. Night shot is good as well.

Mono speaker is loud and rich. Nothing to complain with the price point.

Display, the 720p is a bummer. Yes can notice the difference immediately when compare with the 1080p display. Anyway the super Amoled is really good. Color is vibrant and Punchy. Watching Thor Ragnarok Netflix in HD is good enough. Just the subtitle you may notice its not sharp as the higher PPI display.

Overall experience watching movie, browsing, Fb, texting, is acceptable. Performance is really good so far. Battery life need 1-2 week to know, but judging from the SOC and display, it should be stellar.

Well, thats all i guess. Haha

Once i experience Pixel, there no turning back from the purest Android.

Can the camera shots be saved into sd card? Or only internal storage?

Guys, if compared to Realme 3 Pro, which one is better? in terms of the camera, been considering phone under RM899 and Realme 3 Pro and Mi A3 have been considered. Planning to use the phone for daily driver and not intended for high intense gaming.

In terms of camera, I believe the mi a3 will have the edge.

The wide angle lens is very useful.

nice review

i plan to buy this for my brother to replace his ageing huawei p10 lite, but i hope this display though 720p will not be noticeable for him (not like 1080p in p10 lite is any good)

If camera, IMHO Mi A3 is way better. Equipped with the IMX586 which can be found on flagship device as well, while Realme 3 Pro only use IMX519.

In the future if Mi A3 got Gcam port, then it will perform way better than it is now.

Btw, if you wanna use for gaming also Mi A3 is snappy with High / Ultra setting, thanks to the 720p resolution.

Or if display is priority, Mi 9T display really gorgeous. I view at Mi Store and compare side by side, the Mi 9T black color is really impressive, make me think twice. Lol. Just found it the lack of SD Card support and its a deal breaker for me. Also MIUI kinda headache. The cleaner Android One OS is real reason here to purchase Mi A3.

i also think mi 9t is much better

but he once saw my oneplus 6t and my backups google pixel and ask if there's any stock os like these for under rm1k

i immediately think of mi A series

such a bummer the a3 is 720p , but seeing ur review maybe he wouldn't mind.

True also bro.

For 1 cons vs Many pros, one should be able to tolerate with 720p.

Why not get Pocophone F1? It's on sale for RM999. With RM100 more only, you get flagship specs. The camera on Poco also is top notch for it's price.

I do not think it is feasible to go A3 when you can get Poco or 9T with additional RM100 only. The difference is day and night. Even if you want pure android, you can flash the rom for Poco or 9T. That is unless you are those who don't want to tinker with the phone then get A3 for it's pure android.

I saw the samples of Poco F1 camera. For me, Mi A3 camera is better than Poco.

The reason one to get Poco is only for the SD845. The display eventho FHD, its LCD.

Mi 9T give better value if one seek better display and camera. Plus SD730 is high end mid ranger.

As for the flash Rom, it never beat the original OS in term of stability and updates.

another + point i feel for A3 is the compact size with a 4000mah battery..

it has the same width as my 9SE, but its slightly taller.

huge notch with big bezel, and plastic build+ips screen, no thanks, not all user need snapdragon 845 for daily task.

for rm899 vs rm1099 of 9t is not mere rm100, for some, that rm200 can be use for something else.
