Other banks do practice giving out 2 cards in a single application too.

Usually, people only want 1 card. And if they want the second card, they can apply for it separately.

One reason is to make people spend more, but since the limit is usually combined, it serves no useful purpose to the bank or the customer.

Maybe there is a reason from the banks perspective I'm not aware off.
