This is non issue in the first place. I can bet 99% of rakyat do not support taxi drivers because everyone know they provide terrible service. The 1% who support them are just exploiting the issue for political reasons but in real life they call grab instead of taxi!

So as a gov... Fixed the issue fast.... Make it better or killed it... But do it fast..

Taxi issue is no issue to the government. Taxi issue is their own issue. No need to entertain them.

The solution is easy, incorporate all taxi into grab type of service. Issue taxi permit direct to individuals and not crony companies. Allow taxi driver with permit to car loan with cheaper interest to upgrade their taxi. Any taxi driver who do not follow meter will have their permit revoked.

In fact, there are already some taxi drivers providing service via grab. I rode once before and the pakcik said why not. He get the best if both world.

gohmen need to throw this taxi drivers in JAIL, they think they are invisible and above the law.

For taxi driver... This involved their livelihood... They will fight till they get whet they want.... So the issue here is the slow ministry and its minister to fix or killed the issue.
