Good Day All Sifu, I've been using an old Asus N56V that I bought in 2012. I also have a Lenovo thinkpad from my company which I only use for emails and company stuff (since cannot install the other software that I use). Everytime I am on business trip i need to lug around the heavy Asus. I am in the market for a new laptop.

- Usage: some video editing, graphic editing (AI and Photoshop), and mostly torrent downloading

-  need to be at least lighter than my Asus so that easy to bring around

- battery life: no preference
- budget - RM 4k to RM 5k

You can get surface pro 6 i5 specs.

There isn't enough info on this particular model yet (3500u/3700u models are decent in general, and it's based on SF314-54), don't know what are the power limits yet (Intel version has typical 15W PL1) and how's the battery life (probably better than 2500u/2700u but slightly worse than Intel)

Hi all,
Any good deals around 2.5k budget?
Specifically from Lenovo website "MERDEKA" promo or Lazada/Shopee equivalent,
Preferably with 8gb ram and 512gb SSD or (256gb SSD with another HDD option),
Able to run Microsoft Express/Visio/Netbean.

Ya bro, the thinkbook 13s at 2.6k seems good until I found this

Any similar specs by other offerings at 2.6k +/-?

Thinkbook 13s not bad, got 3 yr warranty also. But it's actually Ideapad (consumer grade)

can i have some recommendations too?  smile.gif i want to get rid of my old Lenovo Y400

my new laptop criteria as follows;

budget: around RM2k
usage: browsing, utube, regular office apps (ms word, excel and etc) and perhaps routing/switching configuration via serial cable
requirements:
- light and thin
- not more than 15.6" screen
- IPS panel if possible
- with RJ45 port if possible

i'm targeting the xiaomi air (the m3 version) at the moment.. but kinda concern whether usb to serial cable will work since xiaomi air don't have ethernet (last time i tried usb to serial cable, didn't work at all).

Might want to take a look on some Chinese stuffs like Chuwi, JOI, though personally I wouldn't recommend them due to unknown reliability

Ic... Let me reset my requirement
1. Budget : RM 1.5k, max stretch 2k
2. Usage : simple powerpoint presentations, reply emails
3. Requirements (display size, battery life, weight etc) :
Screen size doesn't matter, light-weight (main concern, below 2kg, lighter the better) as they give a lot of talks outside and don't want to bring the other 15.6' laptop, usb port, hdmi port, for senior citizen usage, battery life not an issue as plug points are easily accessible
