1. Budget : Max 7K
2. Usage  : university stuff (not engineering, just a commerce student), video editing, work stuff
3. Requirements (display size, battery life, weight etc) : 13 inch, light, very good battery life
To be more specific, Macbook pro is the standard here, meaning the battery life and weight should be on par or better than macbook
Macbook pro can easily fit my needs however I really cant bring myself to get comfortable with its butterfly keyboard. Any suggestion is really appreciated

Budget? Any preference on battery life? Mind low sRGB display and non-upgradeable RAM?

Will be using multiple instances of visual studio, and sql server management studio with hundreds of tabs

Lightweight is the main criteria due to carrying it on and off work and commuting the train

Can say it’s urgent, either I OT or I bring work home, haha.

I’m fine either way. Best if it can support games like Re3 remake and ff7 remake if it comes to pc.

Gaming outside, I’m story mode gamer haha.

Already have a gaming desktop at home, AMD setup, thinking of using intel this time around.

Hi sifus, would love to hear some notebook suggestions.

My small office has a budget of RM5k to buy one shared work laptop.

The basic requirements, must be able to handle heavy Excel calculations (array formulas), which I think means good CPU and RAM a must. Storage should be minimum 512gb SSD.

The rest is not a priority (battery, weight etc.) as the laptop will mostly be used plugged in.

Decent warranty terms and good customer support are also something to consider, as it's a work laptop after all.

The numlock, /, * and - keys on the top rows. The large + key on the right and the large enter key below it.

Dedicated pageup and pagedown is also a must, but i dont quite mind where its placed as long as it is dedicated, not a secondary function.

I'm willing to stretch to 5k, but then again im not in any hurry.

My company provides me with the HP Zbook 15 which satisfies all my keyboard needs, but its damn thick and heavy.

Both of those dont have numpads..quite missing the point..
Mostly spreadsheets and SAP. I do a lot of data entry/validation/analysis.

I've already got muscle memory for the conventional numpad (since my pc at home also have a fullsize keyboard) and the numpad helps for faster data/formula/query entry.

The pgup/pgdown helps when i need to go through the data and/or documents faster than the arrow keys. But i've also mapped the pgup/pgdn buttons to my mouse so not really a deal breaker.

And since i seldom sit at my desk at work, i need something thin and light. Not super thin and light, but mobile enough for be to carry the laptop back and forth from a discussion area to a meeting room or to someone else's desk. And HDMI port is needed.

Oh and sometimes i also bring my laptop to the outside smoking area, so a generally bright screen is appreciated.

I dont intend to play games on this since i've a pc at home, and im not doing any rendering/cpu heavy stuff for the laptop.so no need any dGPU or i7.

My company only offers the zbook15 for 15" laptops with numpads, so the cpu+gpu power of this laptop a but underutillized.

One last thing, SSD is a must. Self explanatory.
I've viewed some pictures of the thinkpads, but the bezels are a bit outdated for 2020 IMHO. Prolly need to see it first hand to get a better impression whether I like it or not...
