1. Budget :5k++
2. Usage : statistical modeling (R, python..), occasional usage on Adobe illustrator
3. Requirements (display size, battery life, weight etc) : min 16GB ram, less than 2kg, <20mm, no preference in battery life

I m currently looking illegear raven SE vs Prodigy, is it worth paying the extra RM1k plus for prodigy?
Also open to any other recommendations, thanks!

Cooling in Prodigy isn't great. Need to fix power limit issue manually in Raven SE

Another alternative is Commandos Katana 5 but CPU cooling is weak

Bro, talkin about illegear, how's the aftersales support? Does illegear come with recovery partition like other manufacturers? Im thinkin of gettin one.

Weight, display, audio, battery life are never my concern. I care only about processing prowess. Imma use it like a desktop

I never buy from them so can't tell, however from what I know it's pretty good

Is the recovery partition really that important though. I wipe all the partitions in my Y530 when doing fresh Windows install lol. Since Illegear laptops all comes with fresh Windows install as well, I don't think there is recovery partition, but it isn't necessary imo

Are you looking for a laptop? Where's your question?

A standard quad core processor should be enough

Only fix I can think of is applying LM

Both have different specs and slightly different chassis, therefore cannot compare directly

actually all of them are good, it's hard to compare, though Lenovo has onsite warranty while Illegear/Level51 gives you more user control (can do upgrades by yourself/do maintenance without voiding warranty etc)

By the way, any thoughts on Acer? specifically Acer Predator Helios 300 PH315-52-54KG since you've suggested swimming in the 5-5.5K waters..?

Hi

Budget: 4k maximum
Usage: Netflix, heavy singleplayer games, some internet browsing
Weight: doesn't matter

Battery life also doesn't matter--would def be plugged in all the time.

Anything with good value for money.

Hi all sifus, need help in choosing a laptop for my own as I sold my x1c6 to use my parent's surface book, and the charging port seem to broke down on me. So back to hunting a new laptop haha..

1. Budget : 7.5k ( I'm a student so can get student price )
2. Usage : some gaming ( DotA and FFXIV), coding, lightroom
3. Requirements (display size, battery life, weight etc) :

Display Size : 15"
Battery Life: at least 6 hours when I'm not gaming.
Weight: as light as possible without decreasing on build quality...
DO NOT want a laptop that screams GAMER for it's look, prefer it to look tone down or professional. As this is gonna be my laptop for work as well..

Currently I'm eyeing on the XPS 15 7590 OLED.. not sure if it's a decent choice, as I tried out the XPS 13 9370 before.. the keyboard is stiff and hard to type for long periods imo..

Anyways, personally no brand preferences. Thankss
