Hi all sifus, need help in choosing a laptop for my own as I sold my x1c6 to use my parent's surface book, and the charging port seem to broke down on me. So back to hunting a new laptop haha..

1. Budget : 7.5k ( I'm a student so can get student price )
2. Usage : some gaming ( DotA and FFXIV), coding, lightroom
3. Requirements (display size, battery life, weight etc) :

Display Size : 15"
Battery Life: at least 6 hours when I'm not gaming.
Weight: as light as possible without decreasing on build quality...
DO NOT want a laptop that screams GAMER for it's look, prefer it to look tone down or professional. As this is gonna be my laptop for work as well..


Currently I'm eyeing on the XPS 15 7590 OLED.. not sure if it's a decent choice, as I tried out the XPS 13 9370 before.. the keyboard is stiff and hard to type for long periods imo..

Not full gaming tbh.. altho I prefer performance, but I will give in that I need the battery life to sustain me for about half a day at max. If possible at least 6-7 hours of work time..

Max weight prolly 2.2kg? Idk... I tried my brother's razer blade 15 advanced 2018 before.. that weight is kinda perfect for me..

Ouch.. I tried xps13, too small for me haha.. had trouble typing on the keyboard, feels to cramped for me, so it's uncomfortable for me. Tbh, I miss the old generation of Alienware before they go thicc.. especially when they have the black and red cover to choose.. damn.. that time the laptop looks so sweet and sexy

Already have a good desktop, so need a laptop for portability and some mild gaming performance.. I would actually go for X1 Extreme Gen2 but lenovo is taking their sweet time.. haiz..

I mean I'm thinking of increasing my budget haha.. but prolly need some extra time before can get my hands on it

Actually on my side, my bro has a blade 2018. The RMA seems okay ah.. talk to support, then pack into box and ask FedEx come pick up.. :x but the RMA duration a bit sohai.. they told me a week like that done, but now about 3 weeks Dy haha

Was thinking of getting the Zephyrus M GU502..

Actually kinda prefer thin and light after much thought. I actually thought Asus had stepped up their game.. So, they're still the same as before?

I will be bringing the laptop around quite often, so I'll want it thin and light.

@zm, how much power can you squeeze out of illegear Onyx with regular daily use ( non gaming ) like browsing the net, and doing some programming?
Need it to last at least 5 hours.

Just curious... would you recommend Level51/Aftershock's Vapor 15 Pro?
Currently in market with about 8.5k budget looking for a slim and thin laptop that can game a bit here and there.
Need the laptop to look not too gamery due to work purpose.
