I am considering getting a flat screen for astro watching. Since the sentiment is plasma is better, I am considering 2 models:

Panasonic 42PV8 or Hitachi P42A01A.

What really interest me is the Hitachi's ALiS panel which has 1080i and the fact that ALiS panel supposed to use less power because pixels are lit one row after the other.

What do you guys think? Anyone got experience with these (esp the Hitachi?)

^ What do you mean by flicker? Do you mean the TV "scans" (i know its not really scanning but for comparison) like a CRT?
