Defense not only accountable for the 2 central defenders and goalkeeper. Klopp's system is to defend from the frontline ie Mane and Firmino.

I think Klopp has significantly reduced the intensity of gergen pressing due to the long season and intense fixtures. The expectation is to win every competition we are in. I think we have decent squad depth but not as good as Man City. Though we are able to score 5 with Origi, Shaqiri and Lallana playing.

Losing Matip is also another issue, Gomez is out most of the time as well and Lovren is decent back up but is not VVD or Matip.

Yes still can improve but I doubt we will be getting anyone at all this season.
