QUOTE(beebee1314 @ Jun 13 2019, 03:13 PM) Thanking PSG is too far anyway. If he stayed on, I wouldn't be sure if we can win the CL or not. On his day, his goals are amazing. But his inconsistencies caused us games as well. As such, even if he left, it wouldn't hurt us as much. And when he gave us a chance to compete in the market for a GK and a CB, I won't complain at all. Also, he signed a new contract the year before, knowing well that he will leave soon, since the Suarez saga. But he signed it, gave us a chance for 142mil. Why still condemn? To me, no players are bigger than the club. And if he can give us 142mil, he should be given the red carpet. I'd be fair to him. He left chasing his dream, and left us with a war chest. Fair and square. Win-win. And did we gain from it? Yes another 120mil for winning CL. And 100mil plus for getting 2nd place in EPL. 220mil war chest next season. Had he stayed on, we probably would have won the CL last season, remember Virgil joined before he left. If we had him being subbed on instead of Lallana, it might make all the difference. Alisson, Fabinho et all would still happen as he would still leave for Barca. By your logic, I should totally blame him that we are only celebrating our 6th now, and not 7th?Will u rather have Coutinho in attack, and Lovren + Karius in defensive position, OR having Alisson + VVD in defensive, and Mane in attacking? I'd choose the Alisson + VVD + Mane instead. Yes he left us in January, got us scrambling, but in Klopp we trust. As people like Owen, we needed him. He was our main striker. But he chose to leave, knowing Liverpool will get nothing out of his transfer fee. He's effectively a scum, an asshole taking opportunity of his short contract, something De Gea is doing to ManU this season. If Owen would have signed a new deal and left at 30mil the next season, I would have given him the red carpet too. 30mil was big that time and could have given us time for a huge striker. You are making it sound like it's all his plan that he would leave for 142mil and would have us spend wisely on our purchases and then winning the CL this past season. The only thing that he cared about was leaving for Barca and none of Liverpool's interest. Oh yeah, he did sign an extension, I'm sure it doesn't come with a huge increment and he was so coveted by Barca at the time /s. Everything that happens after he left has nothing to do with him, the club could have gone "Spending Suarez's money 2.0" and then only then you would blame him? Pls learn to apportion blame and credits accordingly. Again, going by your logic, after Owen left, our new No.10 Luis Garcia scored the ghost goal that helped us to win our 5th. Why you didn't say that had he stay, we won't have won it and therefore thank him for 'helping' us winning the 5th?? Come on la, just thank PSG already if you are any consistent in your thinking.. And I never had any interest to defend Owen, he is downright another level of scum for joining Utd. This post has been edited by Lionel90: Jun 13 2019, 06:18 PM |

QUOTE(jacckl @ Jun 13 2019, 05:20 PM) coutinho also forced his way out, remember the sudden injury and refusing to play? i wont boo any of them, owen, torres or coutinho but they already lost my respect as ex-liverpool players. He forced his way out after signing a new deal. Haha for a fan like me, I'll thank him greatly. In fact, it's him that got us 142mil, now because of the 142mil we invested, we got another 220mil. He won't get my respect for his acting, but no hatred as well. Barca already came the season before, but still signed a new deal with us. For this, I respect him. Torres is not someone I'll boo as well. He did his part. He came back different after his injury. We were lucky to get 50mil from Chelsea for a half Torres. But we invested in Carroll instead, which is poor. Torres will forever get my respect. QUOTE(sahathai @ Jun 13 2019, 05:29 PM) True. Biggest crime for me, is not signing a new deal first before leaving. |

Liverpool, for our owners, will always be a sell before buy club. Don't lie to yourself. You are making it sound like it's all his plan that he would leave for 142mil and would have us spend wisely on our purchases and then winning the CL this past season. And I never had any interest to defend Owen, he is downright another level of scum for joining Utd. It's not his plan to be sold how much. But since the club has confirmed they can get more than a 100mil, we decided to proceed with VVD. Remember the season before, we failed to get VVD because Liverpool made an illegal approach. Its still our cheap ways of influencing a player's decision. As for his contract increase, who doesn't want to have salary increase in a new contract. Lol. Dunno about other people, the 142mil Liverpool managed to collect is a good business. Haha for Garcia, we had to buy him. But between him and Garcia, Owen is much better. We could have won with him too. Winning Gerrard and team is sheer luck and determination. U see how we won Tottenham? We put in a poor performance and still can win. Speaks volume of how much the team has evolved. When we won with Gerrard, Carragher was playing with an injury, Gerrard finished at right back and we ended the game with 10 man due to Carragher injury. In here, we see 2 types of team. One is pure determination and perseverance. Another is team quality. Haha I'm not gonna argue with ya. Coutinho is past. We got our money, he got his dream move. We moved on, we win. Like Salah, he is not irreplaceable. Neither is Mane. As long as the right price comes which Klopp feels its correct, they can leave. When Klopp can sell Ibe for more than 20mil, I'll trust Klopp. The only person irreplaceable now is Klopp and his management team. |

Anyway, talks about players fake this and that to force a move to their desire club, most if not all of them is the work of their agents. I bet its their agent taught them how to force a move out.
Well I am not protecting the players, because its still up to them whether to do it or not. |

Don't lie to yourself. You simply do not understand that nobody gets credits for whatever that happens to the entity that they left. Not even the 142mil, he didn't ask ask Barca to pay that amount, it's down to the negotiation skills of the exec. He didn't conduct himself the best way he could when he was seeking the move, hence the bitterness. If you wanna thank him for the 142mil, thank Barca since they paid for it. Then thank PSG since they paid Barca, then thank Qatar since they are the owner. It's not his plan to be sold how much. Otherwise, it doesn't matter to you if players conduct themselves poorly when forcing a move as long as we achieve something after they leave. It's not OK. |

Ehm, the selling price of coutinho is done by Michael Edwards after hard negotiation with Barca, and he even forced barca to agree the terms of adding 100M premium for any lfc player transfer to barca for next 2 season of transfer.
In other news, after BPL schedule released, lfc had cancelled final pre-season friendly matches with Schalke 04. |

The way i look at Couthino saga is he initiate the exodus and we responded by using his money to sign Alisson, Fab and Alisson. So, i still think Couth is a snake from starting until now. No one is bigger than club.

Apparently we could now sign Fekir for as little as 15mil Euro, quite why we haven't just given them twice that amount to land the man is beyond me, if Klopp's interest in him still remains..

And he was one foot in last season, had interview done before the whole thing broke down.Guess we still can use the old interview clip... |
