Whether it's standard or customized, in my experience, once complain that you need it faster for practical reasons then they will ship faster and arrive at your door step faster too. Good luck!

QUOTE(ijan @ Jan 29 2024, 08:46 AM) E15 G5 - Ryzen 7530, 16GB, 512GB SSD, TOUCH, ALU+FP+BACKLIT, NO WINDOWS, 3yrs P-OnSite RM37xx But I emailed them to cancel the order, if cancelled, ill get a T14 G4 AMD, with cut down spec. for a T14 G4 with the same spec, its going to cost RM1300 more So is wondering...is it worth it for me to cut down on the warranty (1YR DEPOT) and some other my needs (TOUCH) screen to get a T14.. Touch screen hardly useful. Cut down spec definitely no-no. And for the same spec higher price in today's economic situation, you better think hard about it. For the same spec E15, HP ones is more than RM 1k cheaper. Well, it's your $$$, get whatever your heart desires.

QUOTE(PRSXFENG @ Feb 6 2024, 11:03 PM) Hmm 4/5 is quite a lot, it's hard to find beyond 3 usually Do note that Lenovo does employ hardware whitelisting Example, P14s Gen 4 You may look at it and see 2 M.2 slots, but the 2nd slot in that machine is reserved for WWAN and the machine will refuse to boot if you install an SSD there, throwing a "unauthorized network card" error The P16G2 does seem like it has 2 real M.2 NVMe slots Some models may also whitelist the WiFi card Personally, I don't support nor recommend any laptops that whitelist parts. This is just forcing you to get their expensive over-priced parts. Even some HP model does this. Though the CS will neither confirm nor deny, but trying to put in 3rd party parts don't work. But when you put in the original listed parts, it works. Which of course is more than 2x the price of the 3rd party parts. The 3rd party parts do work in other laptops. So, it's not faulty.

QUOTE(poooky @ Feb 22 2024, 05:34 PM) Ideapad 5i with i5-13500H, 16GB ram can be had for ~3.5k. Meanwhile Thinkbook with i5-1335U, 32gb ram, 100% sRGB is around 4.5k. The Thinkbook specs are more futureproof, but will likely wait for a major discount code. For me, it's either the ThinkPad or IdeaPad, not in between. 1k is a lot of money, can upgrade many things. Unless you are mobility most of time, get something affordable (best bang for buck). Otherwise, it's ThinkPad.

QUOTE(nampaknyahebat @ Apr 18 2024, 04:40 PM) Really regret going for AMD chipset after seeing all the bug and issue faced in the AMD community forum, Intel has far more stable driver even my old trusty Intel laptop does the job easily but not this AMD chipset. What driver issue are you facing?

For me, I find the "Software (x.264)" is the better option.
No crashes so far. OBS Studio 30.1.1. Mostly using defaults. I usually re-encode using Handbrake to other format/sizes/etc.

QUOTE(rapple @ May 12 2024, 09:14 AM) I'm looking at this to change my 4 year old illegear laptop for excel & accounting use. Any better recommendation for budget below 4k? Probably cheaper if DIY upgrade the RAM, disk. Remove the finger print reader (personal preference). Battery, backlit and better screen 100% srgb (72% ntsc) should be priority. Unless you want 16" and ThinkPad, guess not much choice.

QUOTE(The~Joker @ May 16 2024, 12:42 PM) Looking to buy a new laptop for gaming and for work (software engineering). Is there a better deal than this at the moment? For the legion 5 slim series Really depends on what value you see. IMHO, get the outgoing models. Those are the best bang for the bucks. This model when outgoing then may cost less than 4-4.5k during sales.. Your wallet your choice ya. There will be always a better model when time comes.

Outgoing means 2-3 years later. Not for current latest model.
