Hi, between AIA and PruBSN, which one has the best benefit. Am planning to apply for insurans soon. Need your help. Thanks.
my personal insurance is PruBSNmy company insurance is AIA.
I will share my experience in categories:
1. Admission:
- None of the hospitals I have ever been to accept PruBSN insurance outright. They always have to waste time negotiating first with Prudential which just does not work during a critical situation
- I have never had problems getting into hospital using my AIA. some hospitals are AIA-preferred hospitals (including the one nearest to my house) so getting treatment is super easy.
2. terms:
- Pru previously had really stupid rules like you can only claim if you are in-patient so you would have to actually sleep at the hotel minimum 1 night to be able to claim. My agent says nowadays they revise this rule already but I dont know if they revise for all treatment or still have for some.
- AIA is very strict with its terms but they are also very transparent. what i mean is they have high requirements for claims but they tell you clearly exactly what they are. so this makes it easy for us to know what we need to give them for the claim to succeed. its strict but definitely achievable as long as you are not trying to cheat or get more than you need.
3. claims:
- AIA claim can be done via app and online and very quick and easy.
- I havent done a claim for Pru in a long time so they may have a similar system in place now but it doesnt seem as easy to navigate as the AIA system.
4. customer care:
- I usually have to run round rings to get any info from prudential. it took my agent 4 months to change my mailing address. every time i ask if my payment is up to date, they can never give me an answer. this is what made me stop using Pru. i check with my agent ever 6 months on whether he has been getting my payments but he never responds. the online system was not available previously so there was no way for me to check myself. had to go through him. this is shit service.
- never difficult to get answers to my queries. most of the stuff I want to know is available in their online customer service anyway so I am a lot happier with AIA cust service than PruBSN.
5. coverage:
- dont know which one has more coverage. never had the chance to compare fully between the 2.
