Yup such great ability on the ball. That through ball as well to Monreal, delicious, haven't seen any of that in at least a year, maybe longer, such a shame Monreal was offside.

Come on Pepet!!

Good sub by Unai. Nelson has been out of his depth and Auba has been ineffective on the right, needed to be moved back to the left or centrally.

Ceballos has done more in 65 mins than Ozil has ever did in the last 3 years.

Lol at the Pepe witch hunt. If we can give an overrated and overpaid so called king of assists 3 years we can give Pepe a couple of games more.

Ceballos was probably our worst player on the pitch against Newcastle when he came on as a sub but looked at what he did today.

I suspect Pepe is still a little behind in terms of fitness else he would've started the game today.

I'll reserve my judgment and comments on Pepe once it is clear he is fully fit and has more starts under his belt.

It doesn't matter.

The point was Ceballos was able to do better today on his full debut what Ozil was bought to do and supposedly does best but has failed to do for at least a year, maybe even longer now.

You can say its only one game, but it is certainly a refreshing sight and a breath of fresh air. We haven't seen this sort of thing for a long long time.

Hopefully Ceballos will be able to produce it on a more frequent and consistent basis.

This is the biggest pile of horse shit I’ve ever heard.

He probably thinks people, especially the Arsenal fans are as stupid and naive as the little boy inside him.

Just another in a long list of good footballers Wenger signed who turned out to be a total scumbag.

Realistically speaking I don’t think we are at the level of beating pool at Anfield just yet.

Would’ve been more optimistic if this was at the Emirates but of course I’d be happy to be proven wrong.

Will be catching the match over some whiskey just in case we get raped 5-1 or 4-0 again. 😅

Guendouzi looked like he was held down by Van Dijk? No VAR?

Typical Arsenal fans, just one good game all pancut awal and expect miracles. Then one bad game and its sack the whole squad. laugh.gif

I remember after the Burnley game:

1. People hailing Ceballos as the next Santi/Cesc and after just one bad game, calling him a big game flop.
2. How people were slating Pepe as a player who "doesn't look like a 72 mill player" after Burnley and suddenly after the Liverpool game he is the next best thing since sliced bread.

Hahaha what next? In before Ozil comes back and plays one good game against a shitty team or a team of farmers in the Europa League and all of a sudden he is the world's best playmaker again? rclxms.gif

Tbh I don't think it was a bad performance at all. I've said before the game realistically we aren't at the level of beating Liverpool at Anfield just yet and we just have to accept that they and City are playing on a different planet right now. The important thing on the night for me was the performance and, whilst there were some negatives of course, there were also many encouraging signs despite the result.

I actually disagree with many about Unai's tactics, I felt it was the right way to play against a more superior side and if we had tried to match Liverpool at their own game I'm convinced we would've been battered and raped till kingdom come. However what I do agree on with most is that Unai was a little overzealous with his lineup, gambling and putting too much faith on the likes of Guendouzi and Willock. They showed glimpses but on the whole were dominated and forced on the back foot for most parts of the game. Would always have gone for experience and fighters like Laca and Torreira in these sort of games everyday of the week. I would also argue Mkhi would've been a better option as well.

Either way despite the defeat I am feeling confident about facing Spurs next and our top 4 prospects for the season.

It's been quite awhile since we can draw any positives whatsoever from a defeat. And hey at least we have one of our two toughest fixtures for the season out of the way with Man U and Spurs dropping points at home in fixtures they picked up a point or three last year.

Laca has been well below par so far, auba too isolated, Pepe doing his own thing. Our front three doesn’t look like they have any chemistry or synergy at all.
