We rejected 30m already

Apparently they might be back for 40m and if that is true is probably the greatest business deal i have seen for Arsenal player in a long time.
*
I hope we do it if Everton come back with 40. Then use the money to buy Upamecano and get Rugani on loan and I’ll be on cloud 9.

If we get Coutinho on loan as well that will be a bonus.

Luiz isn’t the best among the options we have been linked with so far. But he will still represent an upgrade over what we have. Still way better than Mustafi and the now departed Koscielny.

Push comes to shove I’d take Luiz. An improvement in defense is what we need and Luiz will give us that.

QUOTE(L.Torreira @ Aug 8 2019, 02:38 AM)
hypocrite always hippo.

bash koscielny for unprofessional but wanna take unsettled luiz with his drama in his club.

For me, free also I don't want this deadwood. I am happy to let koscielny free since he is deadwood anyway. what weed for arsenal board to take luiz? hell no, he is a downgrade of mustafi.
*
Like I said before previously I am an Arsenal first and foremost, what happens at other clubs I don't give a shit. As long as he does nothing wrong while he is an Arsenal player I don't give a fark.

He can kill someone for all I care so long he doesn't do it in an Arsenal shirt. Or he can be a saint at other clubs but if he is unprofessional while he is an Arsenal player like shitty Koscielny was then I will have my pitchfork out.

What happens at Chelsea is Chelsea's problem. What happens at Arsenal is Arsenal's problem. And as an Arsenal fan why should I bother myself about what happens at Chelsea or other clubs for that matter?

Are you seriously too stupid to understand that?

To me Luiz isn't the best option like I have mentioned, and isn't much better but still better nonetheless than Mustafi and Koscielny, which will still be an improvement one way or another. Of course this will just be short term and a stop gap solution till Holding returns and Saliba joins us next season or till the next transfer windows when we have the time to pursue proper long term solutions to our CB situation.

But hey, if you think Luiz is not good and a downgrade even to Mustafi as well then fair enough, you are entitled to your opinion and I have no problems with that. We will just agree to disagree.

Transfer window in Italy closes on August 23, while clubs in Spain, France and Germany have until September 2 to complete their business.

Hopefully we can still get rid of Elneny, Mustafi, Mkhi and agree a deal with DC united to get rid of Ozil in January.

English clubs still can sell players to teams from leagues which transfer window has not closed.

Good squad depth for all competitions...

On paper looks nice but in reality, quantity over quality.

Still too many Wenger cancers and subpar players.

Hopefully this squad will at least be good enough for top 4 this year and unai will be able to build on that in the next few transfer windows.

U are overestimating them and underestimating us

He has a point. Don’t think he is overestimating or underestimating anybody.

We made some great signings and it’s a step in the right direction. While I am excited with the new signings and the progress the young guns have shown, I can’t say I am overly happy with the squad we have still.

We still have not strengthened our most problematic area in years, our defense sufficiently imo.

We have definitely gotten stronger but other teams have as well. Top 4 is definitely not a foregone conclusion.

Both Chelsea and Man Utd are weakened in this season.

Chelsea sold their top player with no equivalent replacement, they even strengthen us with their top CB of last season. They also have a novice first time manager in tough league like PL.

Man Utd is also in a mess, sold their top striker without replacement, no midfield replacement and pogba still possible to leave.

Top 4 is mandatory this season, else have to sack Emery haha...
*
For Chelsea yes, they face an uphill battle because of the transfer ban and what not but you never know. New manager syndrome/beginner's luck has been a thing for them in the past. They have won so many titles with manager's whom are newly appointed for that season. If you want to mention first time novice manager......they had a novice manager who won the CL for them before lol

Man Utd is tricky, it's hard to say if OGS new system will work, Lukaku, yes arguably their "top striker" but we all saw OGS had a new system even towards the end of the season last year. To be honest even if Lukaku had stayed it won't make a difference since Rashford was always going to be OGS main striker in his new system so for all we know they weren't even ever going to replace Lukaku. But Pogba hasn't left right lol Until he does he is still a Man U player. You got to admit with Maguire and Bissaka their defense has gotten a lot stronger though.

Anyway I agree for now we are front runners, personally I think we are stronger than Spurs as well, but we shouldn't write them off just yet la lol. Haven't even kicked a ball yet.

And yes, agree the pressure is now on for Unai to deliver to top 4. Failure and highly likely he will get the sack.

To be honest I was actually hoping for one more CB in the transfer window like a Rugani on loan or something in addition to David Luiz....that would've made the transfer window a perfect 10 for us IMO.

Lineups out. What a shit starting 11. Hope the young guns deliver and if needed it’s not too late by the time the subs come in.

Came across this rumour earlier in the day:

LS | Arsenal very serious in selling Mustafi this month, Emery dropped him in today's matchday against Newcastle. Mavropanos set to stay and fight for his place. #afc

Looks like it may be true considering Mustafi is not even in the squad today.
