Author's Note: The original review can be found at my blog - 70mai Pro Review @ JayceOoi.com.

Is Xiaomi 70mai Dash Cam Pro still the best budget dashcam after 6 months? A big yes!!! With just $50 in price, you can’t go wrong with it. Enjoy clear and sharp image quality out of its high definition 1944P resolution. 4.97 out of 5 stars at Banggood!!! A huge improvement when compared to previous generation 70mai Dash Cam with Full HD sensor. The newer Sony IMX335 sensor does a better job no matter in day and night. Everything is clearer no doubt. Don’t believe me? Watch this video review to find out…

That's all. Thanks for watching...

70mai Pro is better by how much compared to 70mai? I liked the latter since it's more discreet. Still considering between these 2.

VIOFO A129 Pro(4K). If really don't have enough budget, get 2 70mai Pro. The rear one you need to do some extra cable extension.

That's the limitation of wireless transfer. Copy 1 or 2 videos is okay. I usually pull out SD card and use card reader if need to copy lot of videos. nod.gif

Its kinda slow. But how often would u need to transfer the video to phone?

I have been using the dashcam for months and have only transferred 1 video to phone.

Depending on cars, rear socket should be okay. Yes, can also use powerbank.

Can look at Viofo A129 Duo as it is using a supercapacitor not a lithium battery. It's the best budget dual dashcam now.

Can find it cheap during sales in Lazada or Shopee for about rm500+- with GPS module, CPL and HK3 hardwire kit.

You can read my reviews here: https://forum.lowyat.net/index.php?showtopic=4583698 and more info here about dashcams: https://forum.lowyat.net/topic/4763761

Also, best to avoid lithium battery dashcams in hot weather countries. Lithium batteries will spoil faster in hot temperatures causing it to unable to charge & save settings or gets bloated or leaking or worst case explodes. 70mai Pro is using a lithium battery inside for its impact detection parking mode.

Best not to use lithium-ion powerbank in the car unless it is a LiFePO4 battery pack. Lithium-ion powerbank not safe in hot temperatures.

I was looking at this model few months back, but as someone who parked the car under the sun quite often, would you not recommend this then?

You can still use this 70mai Pro and the lithium-ion battery inside can last a year or so if parked outside everyday. It depends on your luck.

But it is best to look for a capacitor-based dashcam to use in hot countries than a lithium-ion battery-based dashcam. Like Viofo A119 series dashcam.

Hi bro, Seeking for advice, I'm driving Proton Saga FLX, currently I have 1 unit Xiao Yi dash cam installed in front connecting to my front socket (under the audio unit). I'm planning to install 1 70mai pro in front, switch the existing Xiao Yi to the rear and connect both to my car battery or any power fuse (if possible) because I only have 1 front socket. Then, I can spare it for my air diffuser. Can you please advise what cable extension that I need? Has anyone done/install by his own? Can someone guide me?
If it is possible to connect 70 Mai pro to the car battery, do you think it will shorten the lifespan of the car battery? Please help🙏🏼.

I have 32GB but the problem is, it only make use of 5 or 6 GB out of 32GB only. I have change to new card, same issue. Is the camera auto deleted all video recorded after 3 days?

Sorry for late reply. Missed out your message. You might have G-sensor set too high. So it can't delete those emergency files. Format the card. And reduce the G-sensor sensitivity.

Okay. let me try and see. In fact i have format and replaced new card earlier. Still same. Total space 32GB but i only make use of less than 5-6GB with all emergency video and pictures. Will try to reduce G-sensor sensitivity and check again. Thanks for your reply.
