Failed Internal Test By Oneplus



Numerous OnePlus 7 Pro owners reported that their devices received two spam notifications consisting of a random series of letters. OnePlus has confirmed that the notifications were the result of an internal test, and that they were sent out to devices globally. It did not confirm how many devices had been affected, but said that it would share more information soon.

Writing on Twitter, OnePlus said that it “would like to apologize for any difficulties” and assured users that its team is investigating the error.


Several OnePlus owners posted screenshots on Twitter showing the same two garbled messages, one consisting of Latin characters, and another with Chinese. Tapping on the messages reportedly caused the phone to attempt to open a browser which then couldn’t be found.

but this is hilarious, and also scary for me at the same time
my colleague suddenly "哈哈哈哈哈" in his seat, then I got the notification moments after.....

If its by Oneplus themselves, then no worries. Better then Huawei users who complain of advertisements appearing on their lock screens.

That is why I never bother with Hua**** phones, though their P30 Pro zoom is quite impressive.

My AP China set 6/128 received it,
I tot the phone being used before, lucky i didn't factory reset my phone
As when i buy it i straight away use it

My is ap 8/256gb
Some got it some not
Weird software testing

Wow no wonder.. i keep find WhatsApp, wechat and all messenger apps, how come no this message one...

Any way to keep the ambient light but not just blink once when messages come in

Dunno will get fix on the next update or not.. Everytime I hear chat need like answer phone or put on table and loud speaker..

First time of this from Oneplus. Pretty sure they are up to something...

For sure he is. His phones are selling at Samsung's price range right now.

Hopefully it will be fixed soon

My sore point with them is the price difference between official sets and AP ones.. oh well, lesson learned as a first time OP buyer

Ah... the regulars of OP would know better. Tbh, we usually get ap sets, because I would say OP users are the more budget conscious type (thats the reason they went for OP in the 1st place). With the OP 7 Pro, the game changed. I noticed many new users joining the OP7 Pro fraternity but many of the earlier batch of OP users (OP1-OP6) have stayed out, most probably due to the higher price of the OP7 Pro.
