Well those orang bangang kaya raya join mah. Want recognition mah.
Personally besides CS and Engineering degree seems worth it because of government facilities.

others Art Stream one can go to IPTS for better value. laugh.gif

Do note PTPTN is based on "Subsidized" Value. Engineering only dapat RM 20k.
other courses less than that.

Most IPTA students are not scholarship holders, they are running on Subsidy Program.
Scholarship normally can find private external one.
This one not a big issue, atleast you committed to be bonded by company.

In regards to PTPTN loans, yes, they get the same PTPTN loans are regular sudsidized tuition fees students at a much lower rate compared to those in IPTS.
Government should actually take a look into this issue.

Yes, hence the deadline of the program is much later than UPUOnline announcement in July.

I rather doubt so, IGCSE/O'Levels students , without SPM, are not eligible to apply through this direct intake channel.

Didn't really read through the qualifications but I think still emphasize on PreU than Year 10 results IGCSE O LEVEL SPM

Updated read through the requirements just need pass in SPM Malay and Sejarah. Doesn't mean require full 6 subject cert.

I think they might changes in requirement. if you WhatsApp and enquire directly

All IPTAs still require SPM BM. Some unis require an additional SPM subject like Sejarah or Maths. I highly doubt this requirement will change. So even if you hold O-levels, you still need those SPM subjects. It's baseline requirement set by the ministry.

However...

If you noticed recently that the ministry have introduced individual papers for SPM. So now people with O-levels can take 1-2 SPM subjects to fulfill the intake criteria. I'm not talking about the July papers, because to qualify for July papers, you need to have sat for full SPM papers.

So with the new ruling, you don't need to sit for full SPM, just take individual subjects.

I know this because I had one case in UTM who took O-levels (father is a diplomat). She tried to apply for July BM paper, but was told she didnt qualify. So she took SPM (the whole thing!) as individual candidate. Of course, she only needed credit in BM biggrin.gif. The rest peduli apa.

Well since it is a Private Direct Intake this criteria can be fulfilled within the 3 to 4 year study period in IPTA la if they ain't strict.

This is a very negative move, and will fragment education further.....and I can foresee so much potential abuses of this system....

Together with the proposed increased matrik intake, this move shows the education minister has no idea what quality education means....he is just doing damage control by taking turns pleasing both sides of the political divide.....
