Zm, nitro 5 1660ti really bad thermals?

I thought I can wait few more months but seems like the urgency started to kick in.
I've also noticed on some benchmark reviews that ryzen 3600 has a slight edge in performance vs the 4600h.
Wouldnt want to get too high end cpu as u know cpu usage will be low (wasted price per performance).
I've also looked into legion 5i, comes with 10300h (4c8t) where as Forge 15R amd 3600(6c12t) with a plus point that is somewhere 15-20% cheaper.
In short what's the best value I can get if I'm going for 1660ti gpu?

Will also look into the tech armory on above post. *

The new Nitro 5 (2020) has good thermals for 1650 GPU, not sure on 1660Ti config though.

3600 will run slightly hotter and draw slightly more power FYI. Also no iGPU means poor battery life.

Forge 15R 1660Ti has the best value if you want 1660Ti, however it's a desktop replacement laptop - weight+size will be slightly bulkier than 'normal' gaming laptops, and battery life is poor (max 2 hrs). Commandos Glock 5 Ace G2 is also a decent option, however I can't comment on their after sales. If you want established brand, Legion 5i 81Y6005FMJ with LENXCIMB code.

The web price of 81Y6005FMJ (1660ti) only differs around RM200 from 81Y6005GMJ (RTX 2060). I reckon the GMJ is a better option? (im not really a hardcore gamer, just occasional)
I cant find much info on PSREF on the m2 slot for either of those models as its pre-fitted with 256gb + 1gb hdd. Does it have 1 or 2 m2 slot? (asked Live chat, but they replied me 1, just to be sure)
Is i5 10300H with RTX 2060 a good combo? Its relatively a new combo, hardly can find much reliable reviews online.

Since you're not hardcore gamer, 1660Ti should be good, even though the 2060 upgrade is relatively cheap

5 / 5i / 5Pi all have x2 M.2 slots, however 1 slot is shared with 2.5 inch bay. So when the config is with HDD, the M.2 slot cannot be used

i5+2060 is fine, but in some CPU heavy games frame times might not be consistent / mediocre 1% lows / gameplay might be a bit shuttery

I have no idea which SSD they're using (can help you ask if you want)

If you're looking for SSD, maybe we can PM? Since this thread is about laptops

Paging all the sifus in here.

Hello, sorry if this has been asked before. I am planning to buy Illegear Ares V Ryzen 5 3500X with RTX 2070 Max-performance purpose is for gaming plus side MSOffice works. Been trying to get personal review on this model but can't find any, unless I actually missed them. My budget is RM5500 .My question is, is that (CPU and GPU) a good combination and also, is the cooling adequate for this combination? Also, how is the battery life?

I have never bought any custom laptops brand before, been buying ASUS laptops so I am kinda nervous for this. Thanks in advance for the replies.

Nevermind after much reading, it seems like 2070 maxq is worse than the standard 2060, will go for either Onyx Ryzen or Rogue Ryzen then.

Anybody know Legion 5i(17) maximum RAM supported by the motherboard ? I would required to upgrade later to 32gb. My use is not for gaming, but for Animation purpose. I just wanted to confirm before place the order.

I guess in that case, Forge-15R RTX 2060 115W version with Ryzen 5 3600 would be better then.

Get at least R5-3600

The cooling is decent but fan noise is very loud. Also high idle CPU temp. Battery life max 2 hrs due to no iGPU.

It depends on the TGP set in each model
