There are a few decent non gaming options also, some with ready stock. Just don't expect high GPU perf

Hi guys, good day to you all. smile.gif

In the midst of MCO, am working from home and new role at work require a new laptop,,

Basically, what I am looking for is:

- Good, sturdy workhorse for doing lots of PowerPoint Slides, Excel.
- Occasionally Video Editing
- Built-in Front Camera for Zoom
- Personal Gaming Machine for Steam (not groundbreaking graphic, just medium to high setting is fine)
- Good after-sales Support

Budget max 4k.

Can any sifu here recommend?

Currently looking at:
Dell G3 15 3500 Gaming Laptop (RM3799)

Here is what I managed to customize. Totally value for money at this price, can do AAA gaming at low settings too, and feather light at 0.96kg

mayb something like this, just need to add RAM: https://shopee.com.my/Lenovo-ThinkPad-T14-G...8962.9501739902

but again you can get much cheaper price from their site, downside is need to wait

thanks for the quick reply, was looking into this one too but alot of places nearby got no stock
whats your opinion on one of the zenbook 14 UX434F (8gb though) / asus expertbook (can't seem to find a seller aside from Harvey norman) and HP probook g8 440?
Would it be better to just get a dell latitude / vostro?

thanks!

Similar model, but better value. 16GB and 1 TB SSD configuration, larger LCD, larger battery.

Or this model, 500 nits screen.

Good choice, it even has touch screen. But it is 2x heavier than the 7i carbon, and the carbon has a Quad HD screen, with military grade durability and waist height drop survivability. So yes depends on what you are looking for.

Checkout users review at reddit. Some complain about fan issue/noise on the slim model.

Marketing terms it may be, but how many manufacturers dare to claim 1.2m drop test survivability?

Korean youtuber drop test at 5:15 mark

440g8 good spec & cost tapi no stock yet, a client want quick so i pick 430g8.

dell order average 4-7 day arrive on hand.
asus business serie are overprice for the material quality, weak onsite support (myself tested), average onsite support.
damn regret to own one.
