QUOTE(Mov_freak @ Apr 19 2020, 02:30 AM) My Spy (2020) Haha really?Dave Bautista (best known for his portrayal of Drax the Destroyer, in Guardians of the Galaxy movies, headlines this movie. He seems to have transit to the movie world much better compared to John Cena who was last seen in the really bad Playing with Fire (2019). This is directed by Peter Segal, who had directed comedic movies like Get Smart (2008), The Longest Yard (2005), 50 First Dates (2004) and Anger Management (2003) [to name some]. My main issue with this movie is, Dave Bautista was already in a similar movie call Stuber (2019)... Is he being type cast?? Overall, okay movie, but why does Dave Bautista think he can dance??? He is so sure of himself, he does it TWICE here!! The silver lining of this movie is Chloe Coleman, who plays Sophie Newton. She actually delivered. If she survived this movie, it may prove she has got what it take to survive ths jundgle call "The Movie Business" A movie I recommend for a lazy Sunday afternoon. is you have got nothing else better to watch... My Two Sen I love cena movies from 6 rounds which is not bad considering directed by die hard 2 director renny harlin. Batista i only know him as the assassin in SPECTRE while his solo work outside marvel franchise i feel is so unknown. |

QUOTE(Mov_freak @ Apr 23 2020, 01:05 PM) Zombieland: Double Tap (2019) Awww mang.It is difficult to make sequels More specifically, it is hard to make a good sequel... And unfortunately, this sequel is not very good. The gang came back for this (everyone has to pay rent/mortgage) It tried to be "clever" and unfortunately, the opposite occurred. Some new characters had been introduced, and have to add, I do not think they work... If you love the first one, chances are you will not like this... My Two Sen P.S. The ending is a ripped off from one of the Resident Evil... Was thinking 2 check out on netflix today. Guess i shall skip it and let my parent hog the TV 4 their kdrama addiction. |

QUOTE(Mov_freak @ Apr 27 2020, 11:56 AM) Ford Vs Ferrari (2019) Haha never knew this can top RUSH in 2013 I don't like war movies. I don't like sports movies. 2019 did something strange to me... I absolutely love 1917 and now, I also absolutely love Ford Vs Ferrari!!! You CAN teach old dogs new tricks... Originally, the intention was to get Tom Cruise and Brad Pitt to star in this. This movie ended up with Christian Bale and Matt Damon, and my goodness, they are magnificent!! Ferrari has a racing pedigree. Ford has mass production, American know how and We can do anything if we put our minds to it pedigree... In the 60s, Ferrari was on the verge of financial ruin and Ford wanted in, at the racing arena. Ford offered to buy Ferrari, they pitch them an offer, which Ford thought Ferrari could not refuse. Fiat caught wind of this, and gave Ferrari a better offer, and Enzo Ferrari not only drop Ford's offer like a hot potato, he let Ford company know what he really thought about them and their owner (eg. Not flattering). Henry Ford II took it personally and decided to hit back at where it will hurt Ferrari, by winning the Le Mans racing... Ford started a racing division and invited the only American Le Mans winner Carroll Shelby (Matt Damon) to be part of the racing car design team. Carroll Shelby invited British driver Ken Miles (Christian Bale) to be in this team as well... Will the mavericks survive the corporate culture of Ford Motors? This movie grabbed me (in a good way) from the start to finished. Oh Noah Jupe is Peter Miles (Ken's son) in this. Jon Bernthal, Caitriona Balfe and Josh Lucas all brought their A game!! So to sum up this movie, I will subject you to my singing, I'm H-A-P-P-Y, I'm H-A-P-P-Y, I know I am, I'm sure I am, I'm H-A-P-P-Y! That, is my Two Sen |

QUOTE(Mov_freak @ Sep 2 2020, 08:15 PM) Tenet (2020) Hello kiddies! I hope everyone is well and staying safe. Having said that, Tenet managed to draw me out of my shell and visit an Imax cinema today and... My head hurts (I don't think I have Covid-19 from this outing. At least I hope not... The things I do for youse...) It hurts because my brain had to process all THAT info to "get" the movie... So, In Inception his explore human's thoughts/perceptions. The Dark Knight, Nolan explored, the darkness of the human psyche. Interstellar, space and in Tenet... time? What will he think of next? Anti matter? Black Hole? The start of the movie, is ironic. The real world is still in the middle of a pandemic. And the movie begins with a pack concert hall, and not for long... The movie grabs your attention from the first frame, and does not really let go until the last frame... I read as little as possible about the movie, before watching it and still, I did know that Robert Pattinson and Kenneth Branagh are in it. Even with this knowledge, I was surprise to see them, when they appeared on the screen. I like this feeling!! Another surprise was to see a hydrofoil catamaran working. I have NEVER seen those before (No that I am very knowledgeable about nautical stuff). This movie is... good. I love the casting. I love the story. I love the direction. I really don't want to spoil anything for you. I have however promise you the following. 1). There are NO Beatles tracks. 2). There are NO sparkling vampires... I will leave you this quote This movie supposedly cost Warner Brothers USD 205,000,000 to make. I think with everything happening, Warner may end up with a BIG winner, in terms of movie producer this year. Keep safe everyone. My Two Sen |

QUOTE(Mov_freak @ Sep 5 2020, 01:14 AM) Mulan (2020) I will watch on mid day then The animated Mulan was released in 1998. This live action movie is based on that animation... minus the songs, minus the Eddie Murphy Mushu (Dragon) and... humor... To make up for what is missing, they added two new characters, namely Honghui and Xianniang. The 1998 Mulan was Disney attempt to enter the China movie market, and the liberties/artistic licensing to Mulan's story, was received quite luke warmly, is memory serves. Fast forward 22 years and the present day China is no longer the 1998 China. Correctly or incorrectly, the average Chinese person sees items from America as "premium"... Armed with this knowledge, Disney is once again trying to make a mint in the Chinese marker. To make this live action more "realistic", hence the removal of songs and talking dragon... Also hiring a very popular Chinese actress to headline the movie, namely Yifei Liu. So, enough blah blah, did I like the movie.... I... actually preferred the animation... Believe it or not, I found the animation having more... heart! This movie cost Disney USD 200,000,000 to make... Honestly... I am not impressed... The description of Chinese Martial Art was more impressive on the animation!! Some props look Nordic, rather than Asian... I know, Donnie Yen and Jet Li are in this, and I still buy the martial arts in the animation feature more... So to summarized, to write a Chinese story without a Chinese in your writing team is just... wrong... The 1998 story is not perfect... the this re-iteration is even worst... The fact that all humor was removed from the movie, sucked all life from the movie... I never thought I would say this, I actually missed the Yiddish China man Yao, voice by Harvey Fierstein... Please understand, the above is just my two sen. No ball 2 pay full price for the remake |

There's a handful of review from random unknown youtuber but no reviews from one I watch the most jeremy jahn, grace, Chris stuckman and zhafvlog. I wonder why. Its kinda big thing right with the director involved in the movie? Haha this look under rated then |

QUOTE(6so @ Dec 2 2020, 05:02 PM) Cronenberg fans, don't skip on this hidden gem. It's a throwback to the time when David Cronenberg still does his peculiar sci-fi thriller. High concept with healthy dose of screen violence. The premise is an assassin organisation can possess an intended target to carry out murder. The catch is you can risk losing memories or identity when you took possession of the stranger body. Hence you have those nightmarish and trippy visual cues when things start to goes south. Brandon Cronenberg is a fitting heir to his father's legacy. Suppose the apple doesn't fall away from the tree. history of violence will never be forgotten there were back body bruising on Maria Bello after slamming the stair edges 4 2 long while shooting This post has been edited by skylinelover: Dec 11 2020, 07:53 AM |
