Recently, i have made a booking of a recond car through a recon car dealer. The SA told me the car made was 2014, with low milage and got a low accesories. I personally tested the car, and so far is ok and everything was fine. Hence i proceed to made the booking of RM 1k.

The next day, the banker contacted me and i have proviced all the related documents.


after 2 days ( due to weekend), the loan have approved and that where the problem arise.

the SA called me and applogize to me saying that the Car price was wrongly set. The car was actually 2016[U] and the price variance Vs the earlier on was rm15k.

they provide me option : top up the DP ( 15K) or fully refund the booking fees.

i do no agree on both option as was not my error at the first place and i insisted on the original selling price with the car that i've viewed.

the dealer dont want to give in but ask me to go file the complain at SKPPK or any consumer right body. And they also admited, to DRAG it and make me tired to go court for this case and make me give up at the end.

but why should i give in on this as the wrong was not at my end,

anyone has experience in similar issue, is it easy to deal with SKPPK or any consumer group...

Totally Agree. somemore will try ask her for another car (discount more lah) BUT the situation now is just get back money lor. Your approved loan thingy is small matter

er..so should just give in like that? why consumer always have to face this problem and seller just happy walk away..

is not about the loan being approve or not. Is about you already placed booking for the car @ agreed price, after you done, then the SA told you, sorry boss actually we made mistake, the price should be Rm 15k higher , do you want to continue or not?

You are right by principal. But actual car year make is 2 year difference. Tough luck in your situation.no

Just request for refund & look for other dealer..

you have no rights. u paid booking for a 2014 unit...its a 2016 unit. they already refunding you in full...move on

No point to drag it. Get the deposit back and search elsewhere.
Even if you win, and get that 2016 car for 15k less, they can screw your life by sabotaging the unit.
They already made clear they can make your life miserable by dragging the case in court.

Get refund only lor.. A lot of other dealer.. Y need to go through all hassle.. I know ur point.. So no need to state.. There is a lot other seller.. Find the one that willing to sell cheap.. Easy

u wanna bring it to court ? I doubt the court will accept the case or not

he has the sincerity to call you back, shows that he took responsibility to cover you with the info. unless he is an asshole, not telling u anything until the final stage.

I would choose the full refund.
trust me, if you run your own business someday you will encounter this kind of problem and you would wish to have a forgiving customer.

sometimes give and take is the best option, or perhaps ask him to recommend the original 2014 version.
