how long has that been?
could be internal battery not retaining charge at all?
by right, the cam can still record after main power source is off/disconnected.
when collision happen, likely car power source died/turned off. but at least car cam can still run after few minutes.
I'm using 70mai a800s, settings can still enable cam to record x minutes after car turned off. I checked storage album, indeed it recorded myself standing in front of car after exiting car/locked
Really thankful of your reply.
I never got involved in accident since I got the dashcam.
my cam is hardwired one and done in car accessories shop.
My accident is very minor where unfortunately people rear end me when they reverse.
My cam also recorded me for about 60 seconds after I shut down my car but very strange thing happened is whenever there is collision, the camera must gone something wrong.. Really defeat the purpose of my dashcam which is to keep as a proof when involved in accident.

I do not own a viofo, but can suggest this possibility:
maybe the video clip of the moment of the accident was automatically saved to another location? try looking around in the other folders/sub-folders of your viofo's micro sd card
Thanks a lot for your help.
My Viofo seemed to lock the file immediately once there is collision or it experience any G-force I believed.
I checked there is folder called RO which usually keep the video file that activated the G-sensor. Nothing was there.
Last accident also the same, I thought was so coincidence. But today is the second minor accident and it only record until 5 seconds before the accident happen. really acting super weird
